    OverviewThe Digital Engineering Manager leads one or more Digital Engineering teams responsible for designing, building, testing, releasing, and transitioning digital healthcare solutions that deliver measurable value to patients, clinicians, caregivers, and operational users. Operating within an Agile product delivery model, this role is accountable for engineering execution, quality outcomes, team leadership, delivery predictability, and continuous improvement. This role ensures alignment with enterprise architecture standards, Digital Engineering capabilities, and operating model practices while driving delivery across the full product lifecycle—from technical feasibility and design through build, testing, release, and transition to support.  This role partners closely with Product, UX, Architecture, QA, Data, Infrastructure, Cybersecurity, and platform teams to ensure solutions are scalable, secure, compliant, and operationally ready.

    Responsibilities

    Strategy

    • Execute Digital Engineering strategy aligned to roadmaps, capability models, and Agile operating principles.
    • Translate enterprise and Digital priorities into team plans, capacity forecasts, and delivery commitments.
    • Drive alignment between engineering execution and patient/user value outcomes.
    • Contribute to roadmap planning, prioritization, and delivery sequencing.

    Engineering Delivery (Build, Test, Release, Transition)

    • Support Agile delivery across design, build, test, deploy, and transition-to-support phases.
    • Ensure solutions meet functional and non-functional requirements including performance, security, usability, and accessibility.
    • Oversee development, integration, and testing activities across Epic and non-Epic platforms.
    • Ensure release readiness, operational stability, compliance, and knowledge transfer.
    • Support production validation, stabilization, and transition to support with documentation and runbooks
    • Manage technical risks, dependencies, and feasibility considerations

    Quality Engineering & Release Readiness

    • Partner with QA and Test Engineering to embed quality throughout the product lifecycle.
    • Ensure functional, regression, user acceptance, and non-functional testing activities are completed.
    • Drive adoption of automation, QA frameworks, and quality metrics.
    • Monitor defect trends, release stability, test coverage, and production readiness.

    Agile & DevOps Integration

    • Enable and support self-organizing teams through servant leadership and continuous improvement practices.
    • Monitor and support sprint commitments, delivery metrics, capacity planning, and resource allocation.
    • Collaborate with Product, UX, Architecture, Deployment, Managed Services, and Technology teams.
    • Collaborate and support Agile Center of Excellence
    • Align delivery to operating model phases
    • Promote DevOps and support operational readiness, runbooks, documentation, and transition-to-support activities
    • Drive continuous improvement in tools, processes, practices and capability maturity

    Leadership & Team Management

    Requirements

    Education

    • Bachelor's degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, Engineering, Health Informatics, or a related field; or equivalent experience.

    Experience

    • 7-8 years of experience in digital engineering, software development, application delivery, healthcare technology, or related technical disciplines.
    • 2+ years of leadership experience managing Agile engineering teams.
    • Experience delivering patient-facing, clinician-facing, Epic, and digital healthcare solutions.
    • 4+ years Epic Application modules, particularly Digital such as MyChart, Scheduling, Care Companion, Provider Finder, Hello World, Chart with Art (digital scribe), etc.
    • Experience collaborating across architecture, QA, operations, infrastructure, cybersecurity, and product teams.
    • Experience working in regulated healthcare environments and supporting compliance requirements.

    Skills & Expertise

    • Agile delivery, Scrum, Kanban, servant leadership, and continuous improvement.
    • Digital product engineering, application delivery, integration, and release management.
