Join Wiley|Wilson, an architecture and engineering (AE) firm with over 190 employee-owners across five locations dedicated to serving our valued clients. This is an exciting opportunity to become part of a passionate team of engineering and architectural professionals.
We are looking for a highly skilled and experienced Professional Engineer specializing in Medium Voltage System Design to join our dynamic team. As a leader in the A/E industry, we are committed to providing innovative and sustainable solutions in electrical power distribution. This is a fantastic opportunity to contribute to the design and implementation of medium voltage systems that power critical infrastructure and support our clients' growth.
What we offer: We offer a competitive salary along with employee ownership through our ESOP program and work-from-home flexibility with details provided upon inquiry. Our generous benefits package includes multiple group health insurance options, a 401k with up to 6% matching contribution, 24 days of paid time off (PTO), five paid holidays per year, tuition reimbursement, and many other perks. We prioritize work-life balance with benefits such as 80 hours of parental leave for the birth of a child or newly adopted child, a hybrid work schedule, and accommodations for individuals with disabilities.
The engineer selected for this position will:
  • Lead and execute medium voltage system design projects from inception to completion, ensuring compliance with industry standards, codes, and regulations.
  • Conduct feasibility studies, load flow analyses, short circuit analyses, and voltage drop calculations to determine optimal system configurations.
  • Develop comprehensive engineering designs, including the selection and specification of equipment such as transformers, switchgear, cables, and protective devices.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including electrical designers, technicians, and project managers, to ensure the seamless integration of medium voltage systems into larger projects.

Requirements:
  • 6-10 years of experience in Electrical Engineering.
  • Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering from an ABET-accredited institution.
  • Registered Professional Engineer in Virginia or able to obtain reciprocity within three months of the start date.
  • Field knowledge of medium and low voltage electrical distribution systems.
  • Proficient in Revit and AutoCAD, with familiarity in system modeling software (e.g., ETAP, SKM), and knowledge of sustainable design practices.
  • Candidate must be eligible to work in the United States and obtain a security clearance.

Desirable:
  • Prior consulting experience, especially in federal government design projects, is preferred.
  • Experience in building system design is a plus.
