    At Alvest Equipment Services, we look for mechanics who not only enjoy using their skills in troubleshooting hydraulic, electrical or HVAC issues but like having fun while doing so!     Shift: Monday through Thursday. 10 hour day shift. Travel is to shop locations throughout Alaska.

    Salary: The expected pay rate for this position is $35.00 - $45.00 per hour. The actual pay rate offered may vary on multiple factors including, but not limited to, experience, knowledge, skills, certifications and/or location.

    ADDITIONAL INCENTIVES

      • The remaining $2,000 will be paid after 6 months of continuous employment.

    • Earn more by completing your ASE certifications in T-Series Medium/Heavy Equipment or A-Series Light Truck and receive a one-time bonus for becoming a Certified Master Technician. As an employee, the first test attempt paid for by AES.

    AS A TRAVEL SERVICE TECHNICIAN

    The Traveling Service Technician will be representing AES and its core principles before our customers within the Alask region. He/she will complete service repairs and maintenance on mechanical, electrical, hydraulic and pneumatic systems, adhere to and comply with service bulletins, and perform computer-based software updates, diagnostics and troubleshooting for Ground Support Equipment. All Traveling GSE Mechanics will report to the Operations Manager.

    WHAT YOU WILL DO

    • Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and HVAC systems
    • Perform preventative maintenance and inspections
    • Use Maintenance Information Systems (MIS) to document all repairs
    • Follow safety and regulatory standards (OSHA, EPA)
    • Participate in continuous improvement and training opportunities

    WHAT YOU WILL BRING

    • 1–4 years’ experience in mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, or HVAC systems
    • Diesel, automotive, or heavy equipment repair background
    • Strong troubleshooting skills and computer proficiency
    • Ability to lift 50+ lbs and work in all weather conditions
    • Must provide own hand tools
    • Strong communication skills
    • Must be 18+, eligible to work in the U.S., and possess a valid driver’s license
    • Team player with the ability to work independently
    • English language proficiency

    NICE TO HAVE CERTIFICATIONS

    • Med/Heavy Truck or Light Truck Automotive Service Excellence (ASE) certification preferred.
    • Universal HVAC certification preferred.
