Job description

Role : Operator 1, Packaging Operations 

Location : 1022 Corporate Park Way, Mebane, North Carolina, United States of America, 27302

Duration: 12 Months

JOB DESCRIPTION

·Schedule:  Mon-Wed 7:00pm-7:30am; with rotating Thursday 9:00pm-5:30am

·*Possible contract to hire depending on worker performance.

·Develop skills in basic packaging tasks, techniques, and procedures.

·Applies foundational knowledge to complete routine packaging operations following prescribed steps.

·Works within clearly defined SOPs and adheres to quality and safety guidelines.

·Operates under close supervision with minimal discretion.

Responsibilities and Duties

·Set up, operate, and shut down automated production lines, including managing changeovers and adjustments.

·Perform routine and preventative maintenance tasks; identify and escalate equipment repair needs.

·Troubleshoot machine faults and resolve basic performance or quality issues.

·Accurately document production, quality, and maintenance activities in compliance with GMP standards.

·Monitor and improve operational metrics such as output, scrap, and downtime.

·Use SAP to manage inventory and production data; utilize MES to support workflows and traceability.

Qualifications

Education & Experience

·High school diploma or equivalent required.

·Minimum 2 years of manufacturing experience, preferably in a regulated environment.

Skills & Competencies

Responsibilities and Duties

·Performs cleaning of packaging work areas

·Maintains cleanliness of work area and equipment according to GMP standards

·Palletize package materials according to standards and safety guidelines

·Conducts visual inspections of packaged products for quality compliance

·Collect samples for quality verification per documented procedure

·Accurately completes packaging-related documentation and logs

·Prepares and stages packaging materials for production

·Adheres to all safety and housekeeping policies

·Must be able to work overtime as required to meet business needs

·Performs other duties as assigned

·Qualifications

Minimum Education/Experience:

·High school degree/GED

·1 year manufacturing experience or equivalent

Minimum Requirements:

·Ability to stand for long periods of time

·Ability to lift 40 lbs

·Ability to do repetitive motion

Basic Skills: 

·Effective teamwork and communication across departments

·Strong attention to detail

·Ability to work on semi-routine assignments and recognize deviations from specifications

Proficient/Working Skills: 

·Must be proficient in English with the ability to read, write, analyze/evaluate charts, follow simple diagrams and perform basic arithmetic

·Basic proficiency with PCs (Personal Computers) and basic use of a Windows environment is required
