    Job description

    Are you a finance and accounting leader who excels at turning financial insights into strategic business decisions? Do you bring deep expertise in financial planning, reporting, controls, and analysis, along with the ability to partner with senior leaders and guide an organization through growth and change? Are you a results-oriented leader who can strengthen financial operations while supporting long-term business goals? If so, then we’d like you to join our dedicated team as Senior Director of Finance & Accounting.   

    About the Role: 

    As a key member of the leadership team, the Senior Director of Finance & Accounting will be responsible for overseeing Hajoca’s financial planning, budgeting, forecasting, and analytical activities, as well as the Company’s accounting operations, financial reporting, and internal controls. This individual will partner closely with the VP of Finance and senior leadership to deliver actionable financial analysis, ensure accurate and timely financial reporting, and safeguard the accountability and control of the Company’s financial resources. This role will also be a key leader in the Company’s acquisition due diligence and integration process, identifying opportunities for improvement and ensuring the Company’s financial health aligns with its strategic goals.

    In this role, you will: 

    • Lead and mentor a high-performing finance and accounting team, providing guidance, coaching, and professional development opportunities.

    • Set clear performance expectations and goals for teammates and conduct regular performance evaluations to assess progress and provide feedback.
    • Lead the company-wide annual budgeting, forecasting, and long-range planning processes in collaboration with executive leadership and department heads.

    • Manage an accurate and timely closing process (monthly, quarterly, and year-end, consolidated and US results), including financial statements and supporting schedules.
    • Analyze financial results, SOPs, and trends to provide meaningful insights and strategic recommendations to senior management and DMs.

    • Develop and maintain dynamic financial models and dashboards that support scenario planning, business cases, and investment decisions.
    • Deliver monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reporting packages to executive leadership and board members.

    • Review reconciliations of all balance sheet accounts every month, escalating all continuing or material reconciling items/issues to the VP of Finance on a timely basis.
    • Maintain technical accounting expertise, ensuring all new GAAP issues are identified, reviewed with the VP of Finance, documented in memo/policy/procedure format, and reviewed with external auditors for approval and sign-off prior to the annual audit process.

    • Manage relationships with external auditors for the annual audit process of both the financial statements and retirement benefit plans, including the timely preparation of workpapers and draft financial statements and timely responsiveness to auditor requests.
    • Ensure the timely accumulation of financial information from all Hajoca PCs in order to analyze financial data prior to the creation of the monthly consolidated financial statements and quarterly debt covenants.

    • Monitor business performance metrics and identify areas for cost optimization and revenue growth.
    • Develop, implement, and enforce policies and procedures that will improve the overall effectiveness of the finance and accounting operations and organization.
    • Partner with cross-functional teams (e.g., IT, People Operations, field leadership) to align financial goals with business objectives and ensure compliance with financial procedures.

    • Lead and guide the acquisition due diligence process across all functional teams, including analyzing the financial and operational results of businesses to be acquired through reviewing accounting records, conducting interviews, and supporting post-deal integration.
    • Provide active leadership in financial systems needs and operations, maintaining and improving tools and processes to increase efficiency and accuracy in reporting and analysis.
    • Be an advocate within the team and the National Support Center for Hajoca’s decentralized model, culture, and values.

    • Ensure compliance with internal policies and relevant external regulations and standards.

    About You: 

    • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field.

    • 10+ years’ experience in progressive financial leadership roles spanning financial planning & analysis and accounting/financial reporting, including in large or complex organizations.
    • 5+ years of management experience
    • CPA preferred.
     

    Our ideal candidate will also: 

    • Have a strong understanding of GAAP, accounting principles, financial modeling, budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis, with experience applying new accounting standards.

    • Demonstrate advanced proficiency in Excel and financial modeling and have experience with ERP and business intelligence tools (SAP, Power BI, etc.).
    • Have a proven track record of successfully leading and managing finance and accounting teams in complex organizations.

    • Possess a strong knowledge of financial regulations, accounting principles, and financial reporting standards, with the ability to analyze complex financial data and communicate actionable insights.
    • Have exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to translate business, operational, and financial insights into operational efficiencies.

    • Demonstrate excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and engage stakeholders at all levels across Hajoca, including presenting findings to senior management, DMs, and the Board.
    • Have a demonstrated ability to drive process improvements, implement financial systems, and optimize operational efficiency.

    • Have a demonstrated ability to lead a busy, high-volume operational function successfully, mastering process transformation and strategic optimization of systems and technology to achieve efficiency improvements, cost management, and acceleration in support of scaling.

    • Possess strong organizational skills. Be able to organize complex projects, manage multiple tasks, and meet established deadlines.
    • Be able to solve for outcomes across a variety of stakeholders in a positive and collaborative way.

    • Have a high level of integrity, ethics, and professionalism.
