Your Part in It:
Working out of our Chicago, IL office, we are looking for someone who can fulfill the role of a Entry Writer whose key position within our organization is to assist in administering the customs release and confirmation process for import transactions arriving via all modes of transport. The role entails the reviewing and processing of customers commercial documentation and supporting clients towards accurate and compliant declarations. The rater's role must also ensure client satisfaction through consistent customer service. The Customs Rater is expected to perform this role to meet client expectations, while respecting company policies.
CUSTOMS ENTRY WRITER
What the Job Entails:
  • Reviews invoices, manifests and other supporting documents for conformity to customs and corporate regulations
  • Data Entry of commercial invoices into Customs Operating system
  • Obtains customs paperwork by calling client when required
  • Verifies documentation for rating compliance
  • Prepares and submits release packages to Customs
  • Provides customer service as required
  • Provides accurate information and assistance to customers requiring information
  • Processes Customs entries to meet Company and Customs compliance standards
  • Perform other duties as required
What We Are Looking For:
  • CCS Designation preferred
  • CargoWise experience preferred
  • Previous experience in customs processing formalities 5 years
  • Familiar with Transportation documentation and manifesting requirements (all modes).
  • Knowledge of customs clearance process ( all modes)
  • Advance Knowledge of HS coding
  • Accurate data entry skills
  • Excellent inter-personal and communication skills
  • Experience in a busy customer focused environment,
  • Able to deal with changing priorities
  • Solid understanding of Microsoft Office and applications (or other applications)
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Written and verbal fluency in English
  • Outgoing personality; high energy; flexible
  • Great attitude and desire to work hard while having fun!
