To thrive as a Senior Applications Engineer, you need advanced expertise in software development, systems design, and troubleshooting, typically supported by a degree in engineering or computer science. Proficiency with programming languages (such as Java, C++, or Python), cloud platforms, and familiarity with tools like Git and CI/CD pipelines are commonly required, along with relevant certifications. Residents of the area have access to many local activities, from shopping, dining and museums to golf courses, parks, trails and auto racing events. Add to these the many opportunities the Chicago metropolitan area, or “Chicagoland,” has to offer, the Joliet Refinery makes a desirable work location.

With a workforce of nearly 1,000, we take great pride in the work we do to ensure safe, reliable operations. Further, we are committed to community and education outreach through many longstanding partnerships. The Joliet Refinery is recognized as one of the leading employers in the region, including, in 2018, “Large Business of the Year” by the Joliet Chamber of Commerce and Industry and the “Top Workplace” by the Joliet Herald-News.
