Job description

Who we are

At Scene+, we foster an entrepreneurial spirit that drives our mission: making tomorrow even more rewarding for our members. As a unique joint venture between Cineplex, Empire, and Scotiabank, and a network of partners, we have spent almost 20 years delivering unparalleled rewards and experiences.

As we scale and evolve, our focus on innovation and technology is redefining what it means to be an iconic brand that prioritizes a member-centric experience. Data is not just a tool for us. It's the engine powering our growth strategy and our journey to becoming Canada’s most beloved loyalty program. We leverage it to provide personalized rewards and create meaningful connections with our members.

Joining Scene+ now means stepping into a role where your passion and skills can make a tangible impact on millions of members. With rewards for every lifestyle, we believe there's always something to look forward to. Come be a part of our journey - create exceptional outcomes, collaborate across teams, and shape the future with us.

Who we need

Reporting to the Director, Partnerships & Marketing, we are hiring an Account Director, Travel and Banking Engagement to lead the strategy, growth, and performance of the Scene+ travel vertical and strengthen financial services engagement across the broader Scene+ partner ecosystem.

As our new Account Director, you will have end-to-end accountability for Scene+ Travel, powered by Expedia. You will lead the partnership from strategy through execution, developing annual and quarterly plans that drive gross booking value, revenue, conversion, first-time bookers, repeat booking, and overall member engagement. Working directly with Expedia, you will align marketing campaign planning, investment priorities, product and feature roadmaps, member experience enhancements, and operational requirements to create a best-in-class travel experience for Scene+ members.

You will also lead strategies that deepen engagement among Scotiabank credit and debit card members as well as Tangerine credit card members across the Scene+ ecosystem. You will identify opportunities to increase member activity, overall spend, share of wallet, and cross-shopping across two or more Scene+ partners. Bringing together partnership management, marketing strategy, product thinking, and data-driven decision-making, you will shape campaigns, targeting, value propositions, and member journeys that deliver measurable growth.

You will lead one direct report, a Manager, Marketing & Partnerships, providing strategic direction, coaching, and support while creating the conditions for strong performance and professional growth.

This job posting is for an existing vacancy that is a full-time, hybrid role working three days per week on site in our Toronto office.

What’s in it for you:

Ownership and influence. You will have end-to-end ownership of the Scene+ travel vertical, with the opportunity to operate as a business owner rather than simply execute campaigns. You will shape the annual strategy, product and feature roadmap, investment priorities, campaign design, targeting, and member journeys. You will have the autonomy to make recommendations, align stakeholders, and move high-impact initiatives from concept through execution.

High-profile partnerships and broad exposure. You will lead the Scene+ Travel partnership powered by Expedia, working directly with one of the world's most recognized travel brands. You will also collaborate with Scotiabank, Tangerine, and partners across the Scene+ ecosystem to create connected experiences that bring together travel, loyalty, financial services, retail, entertainment, and partner marketing.

A mandate grounded in measurable growth. You will establish clear performance frameworks and use member, transaction, and campaign data to identify meaningful growth opportunities. Your work will directly influence travel bookings, revenue, member activity, partner cross-shopping, and share of wallet.

An opportunity to lead and build. You will join a growing team and help shape how the travel and banking engagement mandates evolve. You will lead and develop a Manager, Marketing & Partnerships while establishing effective planning, governance, and ways of working across internal teams and external partners.

As our new Account Director, Banking and Travel you will:
  • Lead the integrated travel and banking engagement strategy. You will develop annual and quarterly plans that align Scene+, Expedia, and financial institution partners around shared growth priorities, investment decisions, performance targets, and member experience objectives. With approximately 60% of your mandate focused on travel, you will prioritize opportunities to grow Scene+ Travel while developing complementary strategies that deepen banking engagement across the partner ecosystem.
  • Own and grow the Scene+ Travel partnership. You will serve as the Scene+ business lead for Expedia, cultivating a trusted, strategic relationship and driving alignment on priorities, growth ambitions, and performance accountability. You will lead joint business planning, governance, product and feature roadmap discussions, campaign development, investment allocation, member experience enhancements, operational issue resolution, and commercial discussions.
  • Drive travel growth and member engagement. You will develop integrated strategies, campaigns, and member journeys that encourage members to plan and book travel through Scene+.
  • Strengthen banking engagement across the Scene+ ecosystem. You will lead strategies for Scotiabank and Tangerine credit card members and Scotiabank debit card members that increase activity, overall spend, share of wallet, and cross-shopping across two or more Scene+ partners. You will integrate relevant financial services propositions into partner campaigns, advertising, value propositions, and member experiences.
  • Own performance monitoring and optimization. You will establish KPI frameworks and performance governance for the travel and banking engagement mandates. Working closely with Data Science and Analytics, you will translate member, transaction, and campaign data into strategic direction and identify risks, growth opportunities, and optimization levers across targeting, offers, messaging, channels, CRM strategies, product features, and member journeys.
  • Lead cross-functional alignment and disciplined execution. You will bring together Marketing, Data Science and Analytics, Finance, Digital, Product, Operations, Member Experience, and external partners around shared objectives and roadmap priorities. You will lead quarterly business reviews, strategic planning sessions, and account check-ins, ensuring clear decisions, milestones, accountabilities, and next steps.
  • Lead, coach, and develop your team. You will provide strategic direction and ongoing coaching to a Manager, Marketing & Partnerships. You will empower them to deliver exceptional work, build trusted partner relationships, apply data to decision-making, and develop expertise across travel, loyalty, and financial services engagement.
You bring:
  • The experience. You have 7+ years of progressive experience in marketing, strategic partnerships, account leadership, or strategy, ideally within loyalty, travel, financial services, retail, ecommerce, or another complex, multi-partner ecosystem. Travel experience is preferred but not required.
  • The strategic and commercial leadership. You have demonstrated experience developing integrated account strategies, annual plans, marketing strategies, business cases, strategic briefs, and executive presentations that align stakeholders around shared growth objectives.
  • The partnership expertise. You have managed complex, high-profile partnerships and built trusted relationships with senior internal and external stakeholders. You can balance competing priorities, navigate commercial considerations, and independently move initiatives from strategy through execution.
  • The marketing and member engagement expertise. You know how to translate business objectives into campaigns and experiences that drive measurable results. You understand how audiences, segmentation, targeting, messaging, offers, CRM strategies, and connected member journeys can increase conversion, frequency, spend, cross-shopping, and long-term member value.
  • The analytical and financial acumen. You are comfortable working with complex member, transaction, and campaign data. You can establish KPI frameworks, evaluate performance, develop forecasts, assess investment trade-offs, and translate insights into clear strategic recommendations and executive ready materials.
  • The ability to lead and influence. You are an exceptional communicator who can align cross-functional teams and external partners around shared goals, navigate competing interests, and create momentum without relying solely on formal authority. You also have experience coaching and developing others and fostering a collaborative, accountable, and results-oriented culture.
  • The ownership and judgment. You take accountability for outcomes, follow through on commitments, and are comfortable operating independently. You bring the curiosity, judgment, and discipline required to resolve ambiguity, manage complex initiatives, and continuously identify opportunities to improve performance.
Compensation

At Scene+, we believe that compensation should be transparent, fair, and market competitive. Our salary ranges are designed to represent the progression from learning the role to truly mastering it.

This role has a minimum base salary of $105,000 and a maximum base salary of $125,000. Our approach to compensation supports each person's unique knowledge, skills, and abilities, and balances it with internal equity to ensure a fair and competitive salary. Base salary is just one part of our total rewards package which also includes health and wellness benefits, employer-matched RRSP savings, a performance-based bonus program, and many more perks including free movies and free grocery delivery.

Join us.

We are a dynamic and agile organization that works collaboratively to anticipate and meet the business needs of our partners and the lifestyle needs of our members. People who thrive at Scene+ are mission-driven and eager to contribute to a brand that’s shaping the future of loyalty. As part of our team, you will excel in an environment that values ownership and practical, intelligent solutions. You will have the chance to create and refine processes, identify and address challenges with scalable solutions, and introduce best practices that drive our success.
