    Job description

    Overview

    As a senior member of Esri's Product Enablement Team, the Principal Productization Manager will apply product and business acumen, operational leadership, project management, and collaboration skills to drive product enablement, including the drafting of authoritative Productization Plans that are essential to the product lifecycle and release process. This position plays a vital role in our Product Business Management Team and works closely with Product Development, Product Management, and operational teams to support the product enablement and release aspects of the Esri product portfolio. You will bring strong assessment and problem-solving skills with a proven track record of process improvement to increase efficiency and advance operational innovation. You will also leverage excellent communication and influence skills to align stakeholders across teams and guide decisions on complex business and operational topics. 

    Responsibilities

    • Draft and execute productization plans to drive consistency and release readiness 
    • Align stakeholders on productization goals, requirements, metrics, and ownership so teams can execute successful product licensing, delivery and support, resulting in a positive experience for customers
    • Provide day-to-day leadership to other Productization Managers and help them achieve project goals
    • Establish business and operational rules and clear guidelines and processes for product migration and entitlement (subscriptions, maintenance, trials, deliverables), distribution, and compliance while providing a consistent implementation, and smooth transition for our global customers and sales channels
    • Lead post-release consultation and guidance on licensing, business rules, and terms of use and feed findings into continuous improvement including analyzing data into insights for the business and product teams
    • Analyze data to generate insights for business and product teams, and provide critical productization details to senior executive staff 
    • Stay abreast of emerging technology and advancements in AI, applying relevant insights to improve processes and solutions 

    Requirements

    • 8+ years of experience in product management, program management, product enablement, or a similar senior role
    • Experience leading or coaching a team to achieve business objectives
    • Clear and concise written and verbal communication skills with ability to influence stakeholders
    • Excellent time management with proven success balancing competing demands
    • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and creative thinking skills  to streamline the product release process and support ongoing business change
    • Ability to coordinate cross-functional stakeholders and technical resources, and lead initiatives spanning product, business, and enterprise systems 
    • Demonstrated experience building and executing complex project plans, driving successful cross-functional delivery, and contributing to digital transformation initiatives
    • Knowledge of the software development process and release of commercial software and SaaS products
    • Ability to present to internal and external executive audiences
    • Ability to travel as needed, up to 15% of the time
    • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Information Science, Computer Science, Geography, Geographical Information Systems, or related field
