    This position offers the opportunity to work fully remote within the United States (except for Alaska and/or Hawaii).     The Messaging Center of Excellence team is responsible for delivering core rental data to multiple end points, including production of email, printing, data storage, data messaging/synchronization to other clients and SMS text messaging. This functionality is crucial to enable the rental fulfillment processes of over 1 million vehicles in US, Canada, UK, Ireland, Germany, France and Spain. We work closely with our Business Stakeholders from around the globe, for all our brands, to make enhancements to our solutions and to stay ahead in our ever-evolving global operations. As a member of the Messaging COE you will partner with business and technical leadership to achieve the vision, strategic plan and roadmap for EH’s Messaging Architecture; Security Policy and Standards; Global Compliance; Definition and Design standards; and Governance of customer touchpoints. Our Messaging COE provides stewardship across IT solutions groups, IT architecture, Product Management, Information Security Office, Third Party Vendors and Partners, and Executive Leadership. Furthermore, this team establishes and influences clear roles and responsibilities as it relates to customer messaging, identifying and filling capability gaps, identifying and realizing efficiencies, and anticipating future needs and capabilities. The Messaging COE champions awareness, standards, and holistic visibility across the global IT organization to guide technology decision-making into the future.

    As an Engineer 2 you will be responsible for developing, modifying and implementing elements of technology to solve business problems using our Messaging products. Additionally, you will have the opportunity to work with cloud-based technology in support of our Message Platform product which is a global messaging and notification platform supporting email, SMS text and push notifications. As an Engineer 2, you will also have the opportunity to assist in the analysis and design, testing, requirements gathering and final implementation of our technology solutions. We are looking for a self-starter that will maintain established service level agreements to meet customer expectations and quality standards.

    · Using expertise and skills to resolve a wide range of complex issues

    · Contributing to development of company objectives and principles to achieve goals in creative and effective ways

    Required:

    Preferred:

    • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Information Systems, Management Information Systems, or related field preferred
    • Experience in core application development and troubleshooting

    • Experience with developing and using RESTful web services

    • Experience with ReactJS, AngularJS, or similar technologies

    • Working knowledge of node.js

    • Working knowledge of Amazon Web Services (AWS)

    • Working knowledge of MVC frameworks such as Struts or Spring MVC

    • Working knowledge of ORMs such as Hibernate

    • Experience using development tools including JIRA, Confluence, BitBucket, Maven, and Jenkins

    • Proficient Strong Defect/bug fixing skills
