    Job Summary

    The Mobility Engineer plays a critical role in the sales, implementation, and customer success lifecycle at DecisionPoint Technologies. This customer-facing position is responsible for evaluating customer requirements, designing and documenting enterprise mobility solutions, developing and validating deployment processes, and ensuring a seamless transition to deployment and support teams.


    Working closely with Sales, Operations, and customers, the Mobility Engineer serves as the technical subject matter expert throughout the solution lifecycle, providing technical guidance before, during, and after implementation. This role requires strong analytical and troubleshooting skills, the ability to manage multiple technical initiatives simultaneously, and a commitment to delivering exceptional customer experiences.


    Our mobility solutions environment includes rugged mobile computing devices, barcode scanning technologies, and supporting software from leading manufacturers such as Zebra, Honeywell, and Panasonic. The ideal candidate has a strong technical foundation in enterprise mobility, enjoys solving complex problems, and is passionate about helping customers achieve successful outcomes.

    Requirements:

     What You'll Do


    As a Mobility Engineer, you'll serve as the technical expert throughout the customer journey, from solution design and pre-sales support through deployment and ongoing technical guidance.


    Your responsibilities will include:

    • Partnering with Sales to understand customer business and technical requirements 
    • Designing enterprise mobility solutions that meet customer needs 
    • Providing technical expertise during pre-sales meetings, demonstrations, and solution validation 
    • Configuring, staging, deploying, and validating enterprise mobility devices 
    • Developing deployment documentation, technical guides, and knowledge base articles 
    • Troubleshooting complex hardware, software, connectivity, and configuration issues 
    • Collaborating with Deployment, Engineering, and Support teams to ensure successful implementations 
    • Training internal teams on deployment methodologies and best practices 
    • Managing technical requests while meeting established service level agreements (SLAs) 
    • Staying current on emerging mobility technologies and industry best practices 
    • Participating in an after-hours on-call rotation as needed

    Required Qualifications
    • Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience) 
    • 5–8 years of experience implementing or supporting enterprise mobility solutions 
    • Experience deploying enterprise mobile devices in production environments 
    • Strong troubleshooting skills across hardware, software, networking, and mobile operating systems 
    • Experience creating technical documentation and deployment procedures 
    • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills 
    • Strong communication skills with the ability to explain technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences 
    • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment 
    • Customer-focused mindset with strong collaboration skills 
    Preferred Qualifications

    Experience with one or more of the following is highly desirable:

    • Zebra, Honeywell, Panasonic, or similar rugged mobile devices 
    • Android Enterprise 
    • Windows-based mobile devices 
    • Mobile Device Management (MDM) platforms 
    • Barcode scanning and RFID technologies 
    • Wireless networking 
    • Warehouse or field mobility environments

     Work Environment

    This position is primarily based in our office and warehouse environment, where you'll work directly with enterprise mobility hardware, staging equipment, and customer solutions. Occasional travel to customer locations or company facilities may be required. Standard business hours are Monday through Friday, with occasional evenings, weekends, or after-hours support for customer deployments and participation in an on-call rotation.


    Physical Requirements

    This role requires the ability to work at a computer for extended periods, communicate effectively, and occasionally lift and transport equipment weighing up to 25 pounds. Employees may occasionally bend, kneel, reach, or climb short ladders while installing or staging customer equipment.
