    Job description

    Quietflex Manufacturing, a member of Daikin Industries LTD. is seeking a professional, skilled individual Jacket Machine Operator. Quietflex Manufacturing is the leading manufacturer and supplier of flexible ductwork for residential and commercial HVAC systems, as well as fiberglass mats for industrial applications. As a vital component of indoor comfort, Quietflex Manufacturing has a robust line that includes a wide variety of specialized products designed to provide the best solutions to the needs of its many customers.

    The Jacket Operator primarily uses the Jacket machine to produce Jacket of all sizes according to schedule that meet quality standards. The Jacket operator follows established procedures and guidelines in performing manual tasks within tolerance and warehouse operations as defined by safety quality and productivity parameters.

    Position Responsibilities May Include:

    • Adhere to company safety rules and regulations. 
    • Mechanical aptitude to set up and troubleshoot machinery 
    • Set up and change over equipment as required.  
    • Must be able to identify raw material by part number to set equipment up per schedule. 
    • Check adhesive application at the beginning of the shift to confirm it is within specifications.  
    • Stamp date code on each piece as required. 
    • Complete First Article inspections for each production run. 
    • Complete quality documentation for daily reports.  
    • Complete daily housekeeping of equipment and work area.  
    • Perform additional projects/duties to support ongoing business needs.

    Nature & Scope:

    • Works within well-defined instructions 
    • Uses established procedures and works under supervision to perform assigned tasks  
    • Work is closely supervised 

    Knowledge & Skills:

    • Ability to read and write English. 
    • Ability to communicate with supervisors and crew chiefs. 
    • Basic math skills to include addition, subtraction, and multiplication. 
    • Ability to work independently. 
    • Detail oriented. 
    • Must have quick hands. 
    • Ability to apply good judgement, strong work ethics and integrity on the job.

    Competency:

    Experience:

    • Prior machine operator experience preferred but not mandatory.

    Education/Certification

    • High School Diploma or GED equivalent

    Physical Requirements / Work Environment:

    • Must be able to perform essential responsibilities with or without reasonable accommodations.
    • Manufacturing environment with forklift traffic.
    • PPE required: steel toed safety shoes, safety glasses with side shields, and gloves.
    • Job requires standing (up to 90%), walking (up to 10%), stooping or bending, reaching, twisting and turning.
    • Lifting, carrying, and pushing up to 40 lbs.
    • Hand Eye Coordination, handling tools and other objects (holding, grasping), repetitive wrist motion (flexion/rotation), and repetitive foot movements (Foot Pedals).

    Reports To: Manufacturing Manager, Supervisor, or Lead
