Job description

Connection has a fantastic opportunity for a Lead Field Technician. This is a full-time permanent position working remote with benefits. The Lead Field Technician serves as the senior technical resource for field operations, responsible for performing complex installations, deployments, troubleshooting technical issues, and leading field technicians to ensure projects are completed safely, efficiently, and to quality standards.

This role combines hands-on technical work with field leadership, coordinating daily activities, mentoring technicians, and acting as the primary on-site liaison between customers, project managers, and internal teams. There is typically travel to different client sites.

Must be a U.S. Citizen. We are unable to sponsor or take over sponsorship of an employment visa at this time.

Key Responsibilities

· Lead and support multi-site device deployments across healthcare and enterprise client environments

· Perform and oversee:

o SCCM imaging and device provisioning

o Laptop and desktop refreshes, swaps, installs, and upgrades

o Monitor, dock, scanner, RFID, and other peripheral setup and integration

o Device validation with end users prior to completion

· Direct field technicians onsite and keep teams aligned to daily install targets, quality standards, and client expectations

· Coordinate with site contacts on access, schedule, readiness, and execution

· Troubleshoot and resolve issues in real time to avoid delays and rework

· Ensure installs are completed cleanly, consistently, and according to defined standards

· Provide field feedback to program and operations leadership to improve execution and repeatability

What We’re Looking For

· Strong hands-on experience with field services, hardware deployments, and multi-site rollouts

· Experience leading technicians or serving as the senior technical resource in the field

· Solid working knowledge of SCCM imaging, Windows device configuration, and endpoint deployment

· Ability to walk into a site, assess what is needed, and take control of execution

· Comfortable operating in fast-paced, high-visibility environments

· Strong communication skills with both technicians and client-facing site contacts

· Professional presence, sound judgment, and ability to work independently

Environment

· Work will take place across a mix of healthcare and enterprise settings

· Travel is required based on deployment needs

· Flexibility to support varying schedules, including off-hours work, is important
