General Summary:
Qualcomm's Government Technologies (QGOV) division develops special products based on its wireless terrestrial and satellite communication technologies for the military, federal, local, and foreign governments.
As a DevSecOps Engineer, you'll be part of a highly collaborative team focused on provisioning and maintaining infrastructure and services with stability, sustainability, and security always on your mind. You will work in a self-guided, cross-functional team responsible for everything from modernizing traditional services and applications to deploying new technology.
Opening is available in San Diego CA, or Boulder CO, full time 5 days a week
Applicants selected will be subject to a government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information.
** Must be a U.S. citizen and have an active U.S. Government security clearance.**
Ideal candidate will have:
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field and 1 yr of relevant experience or,
No degree and 3+ years of relevant experience
What you have:
• Extensive Linux experience with servers and workstations. You can easily navigate the CLI, knowledgeable with typical Linux troubleshooting tools, and have a broad understanding of Ubuntu and RedHat.
• An understanding of AWS and/or Azure service deployment and protection practices.
• The ability to automate through scripting languages such as Python, Ansible, Go, etc.
• The skill to provide sufficient automated test coverage of various implementations.
• You have familiarity with Jenkins, Puppet, Splunk, JIRA, Vault, Docker, AWS, Azure, etc.
• Ability to respond rapidly to changing landscapes while providing stable, reliable, and secure services to customers.
• You have a passion for continuous learning and leverage the scientific method to ensure nothing is taken for granted.

Security: You know how to layer appropriate security within solutions across the lifecycle. You understand the security implications and consequences of any deployment.
Self-Driven: You understand how to prioritize work and time allocation at a personal and team level.
Stability: You know what it means to deliver a service with a high degree of reliability and are intimately familiar with how disruptions impact consumers.
Sustainability: You avoid one off solutions which are challenging to support. Instead, your solutions are aligned with team goals and strategic vision. You routinely dedicate cycles to reducing technical debt. You design, write, and deliver software that improves the availability, protection, and efficiency of services.
Preferred Qualifications:
Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems or related field
3+ years of experience in one or more of the following:
  • Amazon Web Services administration, preferably in GovCloud
  • Cloud Architecture, Security and Tooling
  • Ability to create and analyze telemetry
  • Automating and enabling low-risk releases
  • AI/ML Tooling
  • Configuration management
  • Enabling fast and reliable automated testing
  • Enablement and experience practicing continuous integration and continuous delivery
  • Secure software development lifecycle management of high-availability services / architectures

Minimum Qualifications:
• 5+ years of IT-relevant work experience with Bachelor's degree in a technical field (e.g., Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems).
OR
7+ years of IT-relevant work experience without a Bachelor's degree.
• 4+ years of work experience with Full-stack Application Development (e.g., Java, Python, JavaScript, etc.).
• 3+ years of work experience with Data Structures, algorithms, and data stores.

Pay range and Other Compensation & Benefits:
$50.77 - $76.15
The above pay scale reflects the broad, minimum to maximum, pay scale for this job code for the location for which it has been posted. Even more importantly, please note that salary is only one component of total compensation at Qualcomm. We also offer a competitive annual discretionary bonus program and opportunity for annual RSU grants (employees on sales-incentive plans are not eligible for our annual bonus).
