Job Overview

The Store Manager (SM) is at the forefront of both the colleague and customer experience. Through dynamic leadership style, interpersonal skills, and business acumen, the SM will inspire their team to bring the Bloomingdale's The Outlet Store mission to life. The SM possesses an inherent passion for people whether it is recruiting, onboarding and developing, direct reports, or ensuring the customer receives outstanding experience. The Store Manager devises business strategies that position BOS as the local leader, driving sales, service, and loyalty through their leadership team, while placing the customer first, always, in every strategy. The SM anticipates the daily needs of the business and responds to market/fashion trends. The SM fosters a test and learn environment and is flexible and agile, dreaming big is support of sales results and merchandising standards.

Essential Functions

  • Deliver store performance metrics to plan: EBIT, Sales, Net Promoter Score, Expense Rate, Conversion, and Loyallist. 
  • Ensure Operating Principles are fully embraced by the store team with the appropriate communication and culture. 
  • Recruit top quality leaders and staff with appropriate diversity. Spend time shopping the competition specifically looking at people and building a bench for movement to the BOS team.  Observe and get to know the capabilities of the best leaders and associates in the competition. 
  • Require and champion the use of selling technology to support a seamless customer experience.
  • Develop productive relationships with business partners including Central Merchants and Planners, Merchandise Execution, and Store Operations, to drive localization and operational excellence as a foundation for growing sales.
  • Provide local ground intelligence on merchandise that fits the local customer and competes with the competition. Share individual store needs, market differences, and merchandise assortment opportunities.
  • Lead and own total store execution, from inbound receipts to outbound purchases, and the presentation, visual merchandising, and markdown execution in between.  Execute central merchandise strategies.
  • Serve as the ultimate role model of customer first, always. Consistently demonstrate the urgency of servicing the customer in a professional and knowledgeable manner. 
  • Drive store colleague engagement by building teams committed to a diverse and inclusive environment, supporting a culture of learning and development, and providing consistent feedback that drives employee engagement and retention. 
  • Demonstrate product knowledge across all merchandise areas, including the ability to suggest and implement merchandising decisions to drive the business. 
  • Perform other duties as assigned. 

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree from a 4-year college or university
  • 3+ years of experience
  • Effectively communicate and present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, and all levels of internal and external business partners
  • Ability to effectively plan and execute strategies. 
  • Ability to monitor and maneuver workflow to achieve priorities. 
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule with retail hours, including day, evening, weekends, and/or holidays

Essential Physical Requirements

  • Requires periods of walking, standing, communicating, reaching, crouching and climbing ladders 
  • Frequent use of computers and other technology, necessary to perform job functions, including handheld equipment, cash register and ability to process register transactions 
  • Frequently lift/move up to 25lbs
