To thrive as a Supply Chain Intern, you typically need analytical skills, attention to detail, and a foundation in business, logistics, or supply chain management, often supported by relevant coursework or a related degree. Familiarity with Microsoft Excel, ERP systems like SAP, and supply chain management software is highly valued. Strong communication, problem-solving abilities, and a proactive attitude help interns excel in team settings and adapt to fast-paced environments. What types of projects or tasks can a Supply Chain Intern expect to work on during their internship?

As a Supply Chain Intern, you can expect to be involved in a variety of projects that provide hands-on experience with inventory management, process optimization, and data analysis. Interns often assist with tracking shipments, analyzing supply chain performance metrics, and collaborating with vendors or internal teams to resolve logistical challenges. You may also participate in meetings to learn about procurement, demand forecasting, and supply network planning. This exposure helps you understand the end-to-end supply chain process and prepares you for more advanced roles in the field.

What does a Supply Chain Intern do?

A Supply Chain Intern supports the supply chain team by assisting with tasks such as inventory management, data analysis, order processing, and logistics coordination. They help ensure the smooth flow of goods and materials throughout the supply chain by collaborating with various departments, maintaining records, and identifying process improvements.
