About The Position
The Supervisor, Electrical Operations - Training role is to provide leadership and direct daily operations for Ameren apprentices attending training or performing OJT as a member of an apprentice crew. This position includes the drive for results with respect to oversight of safety, compliance to bargaining agreements including corresponding apprentice agreements.
Further, the Supervisor, Electrical Operations - Training must:
  • Preferred experience as Journeyman Lineman.
  • Preferred experience with Troubleshooting, pertaining to Residential and Commercial customers, and Electrical Distribution.
  • Preferred experience with Distribution Switching.
  • Contribute and/or facilitate initial or early encounters for new apprentice team members of continuous improvement initiatives and activities associated with workgroup goals in safety, customer service, co-worker engagement and development
  • Introduce and lead a variety of strategic efforts that create a vision which supports the team's short and long term goals and objectives
  • Exhibit the ability to inspire and engage co-workers, deliver results, think-customer, champion learning, and collaborate to build a foundation to deliver exceptional customer service

Key responsibilities include:
  • Foster a culture of safety and zero unsafe acts by championing safety efforts, achieving safety objectives and ensuring that safety is the top value of every new and existing co-worker
  • Lead, instruct, and apply Ameren Missouri Consolidated Safety Manual processes, procedures, and rules ensuring co-workers are prepared and accountable
  • Could include planning, scheduling, instructing, and direction of the activities of the OH apprentice construction crews engaged in the learning phase of construction of new and maintenance of existing Ameren facilities.
  • Develop and evaluate apprentice coworkers engaged in the completion of an Overhead, Substation, Underground or Traveling Operator apprentice bargaining agreement programs to ensure safe, efficient, and effective current and future performance.
  • Ensure Ameren Missouri construction standards are followed.
  • Provide technical expertise to Field Operations, Transmission, Dispatch, Engineering, Planning and other field supervision
  • Assist in the review and creation of procedures and standards
  • Provide instruction and training on a variety of topics associated with the construction and maintenance of electric distribution necessary for achieving skill improvement and maintaining job qualifications.
  • Plan, develop, schedule, present, and revise associated lesson plans with emphasis on the integration of safe work practices into training programs. Some travel throughout Missouri may be required.
  • Provide instruction and completion of OSHA required training and CDL training
  • Evaluate apprentice performance for the purposes of advancement or disqualification including discipline or dismissal from the apprenticeship in accordance with the terms of the apprenticeship agreements.
  • Supervise apprentices and journeymen engaged in learning activities while at Dorsett Training Center
  • Supervise Ameren and contractor line crews during emergency/storm situations.
  • Evaluate the effectiveness of apprentice and journeyman learning materials/programs and develop and/or implement the modifications necessary to ensure continuous improvement.

Qualifications
High School Diploma or equivalent required. Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university preferred. Five or more years of relevant operations experience (e.g., journeyman or apprentice in Substations) required. Supervisory or team/project leadership preferred.
In addition to the above qualifications, the successful candidate will demonstrate:
  • Demonstrated ability to work safely and create a safe work environment for your team.
  • Possess a thorough knowledge of (Ameren) safety rules.
  • Thorough knowledge of Ameren construction standards and practices. Thorough knowledge of OSHA regulations preferred.
  • Systems proficiency (e.g., Microsoft Office, OAS, DOJM, Insight LMS, etc.) preferred.
  • Ability to make effective decisions, plan and prioritize, and delegation.
  • Proficiency with personal computer applications.
  • Ability to be a team player and foster a team environment.
  • Ability to communicate and collaborate in meetings and individual interactions.
  • Demonstrated ability to create a cooperative, cohesive, and consistent work environment.
  • Ability to think critically, adapt quickly and provide innovative solutions to challenges

  • Must have demonstrated leadership, communication, and human relations' skills.
  • Subject to emergency call-outs.
  • Must have the ability to obtain and maintain a CDL License.
  • Ameren's selection process includes a series of interviews and may include candidate testing and/or an individual aptitude or skill-based assessment.

Compensation Range:
$105,100.00 - $162,900.00
At Ameren, base salary is one component of a competitive compensation package for employees. Our pay ranges are broad to allow for movement within our organization and to accommodate different skill sets and levels of expertise. We take into consideration a variety of factors including, but not limited to, skills, abilities, experience, education, credentials, and internal equity when determining the base salary offered. Roles are eligible for additional rewards including annual incentive payments based on individual and company performance.
