The Network Operations Manager will report to the Director, IT Operations and is responsible for maintaining and supporting all network infrastructures, storage systems, and server-based equipment - physical, virtual, and cloud-based - as well as backup services for these systems. Support includes hardware and software. This position monitors all aspects of network connectivity and responds proactively to any issues. Additionally, the Network Operations Manager is available 24x7 to respond to emergencies that may arise on our networks. The Network Operations Manager will supervise and mentor the Network Administrator(s).
Requirements
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Administers Microsoft Azure and Amazon Web Services
  • Responsible for configuration, backups, and upkeep of all cloud-based systems
  • Mentors and manages work of the Network Administrator(s)
  • Administers VMware and is primary support contact for virtual hosts and servers located at both the organization's headquarters and the co-location site
  • Responsible for the equipment and operation of the data center located at both the organization's headquarters and the co-location site
  • Configures and maintains all network devices including the firewall, servers, routers, switches, NAS systems, and iSCSI SAN units
  • Configures and maintains Active Directory records and group policies for organization
  • Configures and maintains file server and data security monitoring software
  • Configures and maintains virtual machine backup environment
  • Monitors critical infrastructure hardware and takes appropriate action to resolve any issues as needed, including outside normal business hours
  • Approves new Windows and application updates through NinjaOne and other related tools on a regular basis
  • Ensures updates are automatically distributed to all client computers to maintain latest hardware and software updates
  • Maintains company inventory database of hardware and software
  • Creates and maintains documentation concerning software and hardware installation and/or troubleshooting procedures
  • Performs other related duties as assigned

EDUCATION/RELATED EXPERIENCE:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience
  • Previous supervisory experience
  • 5-7 years' experience in network and/or systems administration
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Azure and Amazon Web Services a plus
  • VMWare Data Center Virtualization (VCP6-DCV) certification a plus

SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
  • Advanced knowledge of, and experience with, current operating systems and software, including VMWare ESXi, VMWare VSphere, Microsoft Server 2012, Microsoft Windows, Microsoft Office, Microsoft Exchange, and Microsoft Active Directory
  • Must be familiar with Cisco Meraki, VMWare VSphere, TCP/IP, DNS, and DHCP
  • Interest in maintaining knowledge of state of the art technology solutions and the ability to evaluate new technology to make appropriate recommendations for infrastructure upgrades
  • Strong organizational and communication skills
  • Problem-solving ability with excellent multi-tasking skills
  • Ability to prioritize and perform a variety of concurrent tasks with minimal direction
  • Ability to manage others and lead a team
  • Working knowledge of configuration, installation, and troubleshooting of enterprise level hardware and software

WORK ENVIRONMENT & PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
  • This position operates in a professional office environment and is largely sedentary.
  • This role routinely requires the use of standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds on occasion
