About the Role
At Express Flooring, we understand that every Warehouse Lead plays an integral role in our success. The Warehouse Lead is responsible for supporting daily warehouse operations and ensuring flooring products are received, stored, maintained, and distributed safely, accurately, and on time. This position serves as a hands-on leader, helping coordinate the warehouse team while maintaining a clean, organized, and productive work environment.
The Warehouse Lead will oversee shipping, receiving, inventory, and stocking activities; assist with employee training and workflow coordination; monitor safety and quality standards; and perform related duties as required.
Job Type: Full-Time; In-Person
Compensation: $26-27/hour
Location: Santa Fe Springs, CA

Schedule: This is a full-time, nonexempt position. The regular schedule is generally 6:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., with an earlier schedule of approximately 5:00 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. on designated truck days. The position generally works five days per week but may be scheduled for a sixth day on a rotating basis based on operational needs. Saturday availability is required; the anticipated rotation normally provides every other Saturday off. Additional overtime may be required during periods of increased business activity. All overtime will be paid in accordance with applicable law.
What You'll Do
  • Lead and support Warehouse Associates in completing daily operational priorities.
  • Assign tasks, monitor workflow, and help ensure deadlines and productivity expectations are met.
  • Train and coach team members on warehouse processes, equipment, systems, and safety procedures.
  • Pick, pack, and ship orders accurately and efficiently using RF equipment and technology.
  • Operate PC- and RF-based computer systems with a high level of accuracy.
  • Ensure timely and accurate entry of information into the company ERP/WMS.
  • Confirm orders are picked, packed, staged, and shipped accurately in a fast-paced environment.
  • Load and unload inbound and outbound trucks using forklifts and pallet jacks.
  • Accurately measure, cut, package, and prepare roll products.
  • Receive, store, organize, and ship goods and materials based on assigned priorities.
  • Ensure inbound merchandise is properly tagged and placed in designated warehouse locations.
  • Move freight, inventory, and materials between storage areas and loading docks.
  • Load and deliver flooring materials to customers and contractors outside warehouse locations, as needed.
  • Safely operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and other warehouse equipment.
  • Verify system inventory levels against physical inventory counts and report discrepancies.
  • Assist with cycle counts and inventory-control activities.
  • Maintain compliance with OSHA standards and all company safety policies.
  • Monitor warehouse cleanliness, organization, and equipment upkeep throughout each shift.
  • Stack and organize flooring materials, boards, lumber, and pallets safely.
  • Communicate operational concerns, inventory issues, safety risks, and staffing needs to management.
  • Help identify process improvements and implement solutions that improve safety, accuracy, and efficiency.
  • Support management with additional duties and projects as assigned.
What You'll Bring
  • Previous warehouse leadership, lead, or supervisory experience preferred.
  • Forklift certification required, with at least one year of forklift experience preferred.
  • Ability to lead by example and promote a positive, professional work environment.
  • Strong organizational, time-management, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to prioritize multiple assignments and adjust to changing operational needs.
  • Ability to coach employees, provide direction, and hold team members accountable.
  • Clear and professional verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with employees, contractors, customers, and vendors.
  • Ability to regularly lift and move materials weighing 50 pounds or more.
  • Experience using warehouse databases, RF scanners, ERP/WMS platforms, and Microsoft Office programs preferred.
  • Must be able to communicate effectively in English.
  • Must follow all company policies, safety procedures, and operational standards.
  • Applicants must be at least 18 years of age.

Physical Requirements:
  • Must be able to lift and move materials up to 50+ lbs and assist with warehouse loading activities.
