Your Job
Our Optical Solutions team located in Fremont, CA is looking for a Hardware Engineering Manager to lead and manage the electrical engineering team within Molex's Optical Solutions Business Unit.
Our team of Hardware Engineers are focused on delivering high-speed electrical design for advanced optical interconnect products including high speed line cards, amplifiers and optical systems. This role combines a high degree of technical leadership, people management, and cross-functional collaboration to deliver cutting-edge solutions for hyperscale data centers and next-generation optical networking systems.
The Manager will have technical oversight of analog and digital engineering design teams in two geographic locations and work closely with our global engineering and manufacturing teams.

Continuous innovation in passive component function integration, miniaturization, and manufacturing automation, cutting edge WSS and amplification technology and comprehensive optical, mechanical, electrical and software design capabilities enable us to serve the needs of high-density, high-bandwidth, and flexible optical networks of telecom, datacom, hyperscale datacenter and supercomputing.
We serve global clients in telecom and datacom industries in providing innovative optical modules and subsystems to support our customer's next generation networks.
What You Will Do
  • Manage and mentor electrical engineers; help resolve technical issues; set goals and drive performance.
  • Oversee electrical design for optical modules, backplanes, line cards and optical interconnect systems.
  • Represent hardware team as technical leader in program reviews, gateway readiness reviews, and leadership updates.
  • Ensure compliance with Molex quality standards and industry certifications.
  • Drive signal integrity, power integrity, and EMI/EMC compliance.
  • Collaborate with optical, mechanical, and manufacturing teams for NPI and production.
  • Interface with customers and vendors for technical discussions and component selection.
  • Align closely with global cross functional teams from product design roadmap and development status

Who You Are (Basic Qualifications)
  • Bachelors degree in Electrical Engineering
  • At least 5 years in electrical hardware design (analog or digital) electronic circuit board, PCBs with integrated processors, power management
  • Experience in testing and validation of electrical systems
  • At least 3 years in hardware design leadership or Program Management experience leading hardware programs
  • Experience with ISO and industry standards
  • Experience working with global teams; Ability to travel to Asia

For this role, we anticipate paying $175,000 - $225,000 per year. This role is eligible for variable pay, issued as a monetary bonus or in another form.
