Job description

Amazon Leo is Amazon's low Earth orbit satellite network. Our mission is to deliver fast, reliable internet connectivity to customers beyond the reach of existing networks. From individual households to schools, hospitals, businesses, and government agencies, Amazon Leo will serve people and organizations operating in locations without reliable connectivity. The Amazon Leo for Government business has a special focus on governments around the globe.
We are seeking a Global Contracts Manager to join the Amazon Leo for Government (ALG) contracts team to help shape the future of ALG and work cradle to grave contracting efforts. This position offers a unique opportunity for a seasoned contracts professional to be part of a small, high-impact team building the foundation for how Amazon delivers satellite connectivity to Government customers worldwide. The ideal candidate brings extensive experience navigating complex government acquisition environments, a track record of building contracts functions in ambiguous and fast-moving settings, and the strategic judgment to operate with significant autonomy. You will draw on deep expertise across the full contract lifecycle to establish scalable processes, shape acquisition strategy, and serve as a trusted advisor to leadership and customers alike.
This is an individual contributor position and in this role you will:
• Manage and lead contract management efforts cradle to grave for US and international government and commercial customers-from proposal development, support to proposal response, and negotiations through execution, deliverable tracking, and close-out • Develop contract management strategies leveraging your familiarity with global government acquisition guidelines and compliance requirements; formulate and maintain contract policies, procedures, operating practices, and performance standards • Oversee review of all customer contractual documents, coordinate legal activities for contract/agreement negotiation, develop negotiation positions, document trade-off decisions for leadership, and support competitive bid processes • Engage with and educate government contracting officers on Amazon Leo products and services, advising on commercial contracting models, approaches, and relevant acquisition policy and regulations • Develop and use deep industry background to communicate effectively across technical and business discussions with customers, partners, and internal Amazon Leo team members; document strategies for ALG contract management in collaboration with relevant stakeholders • Maintain contract records/files, ensure compliance with all contractual obligations, and work with finance partners to track contract health and milestone completion • Develop and implement tools, automation, standard operating procedures, and templates to increase efficiency and accelerate deal velocity; drive adoption of best practices and optimize cross-team procedures • Develop contract management short-term and long-term goals/objectives and execute plans to achieve them; identify and clear blockers, escalating when appropriate • Navigate complex problems weighing various priorities, communicate clearly to peers and leadership on plans and critical issues, foster constructive dialogue, and lead resolution of contractual issues
This position requires that the candidate selected be a U.S. Citizen in order to comply with U.S. government-imposed requirements of our contracts. A US Government Top Secret/SCI clearance is highly preferred but not required.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor's degree
- Experience influencing internal and external stakeholders
- US Citizenship
- 6+ years of developing, negotiating and executing business agreements experience. Please note this is a minimum and this position requires a seasoned contracts professional. Senior level personnel are encouraged to apply.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Experience developing strategies that influence leadership decisions at the organizational level
- Experience managing programs across cross functional teams, building processes and coordinating release schedules
- Current, active TS/SCI US Government Security Clearance

The base salary range for this position is listed below. Your Amazon package will include sign-on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation will be determined based on factors including experience, qualifications, and location.
