Job Summary:

The Consulting Systems Engineer (CSE) will lead the technical vision for Fortune 500 - Fortune 2,000 clients, focusing on designing innovative architecture solutions and building strong customer relationships.
Responsibilities:
• Lead and own the technical sales strategy for key accounts, proactively identifying customer challenges and designing innovative architecture solutions that deliver real business value.
• Partner with Sales counterpart in customer engagements - from discovery meetings and whiteboard design sessions to product demos and solution presentations.
• Partner with Sales counterpart to have cost effect solutions that meet customer financial requirements as well as technical
• Translate customer requirements into custom technical designs and compelling proposals, simplifying complex concepts for both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Build, grow and manage strong relationships with customer teams, becoming their go-to consultative advisor.
• Clearly set expectations, communicate with precision, and lead conversations rather than just attend them. Bring added value to every meeting you attend.
• Use your business insight to understand clients’ operations and guide them toward strategic, future-proof solutions.
• Map WWT value prop to customer needs and requirements.
• Work closely with our partners and OEMs (leading technology vendors) to craft unified solutions and deliver industry expertise to both customers and OEMs.
• Leverage internal resources - regularly utilize the ATC for hands-on workshops, demos and proofs-of-concept - to accelerate sales cycles and show value early.
• Stay ahead of tech trends and emerging technologies, expanding your expertise across adjacent domains (think cloud, security, networking, digital workplace, etc.).
• Take ownership of your career development with direction and guidance from leadership
• Be curious and creative in finding new ways to solve customer problems. Provide thought leadership by sharing insights on new technologies and best practices with clients and internally within our engineering community.
• Embrace our core values and team culture in every interaction including the sales process.
• Collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams (sales, services, partners) and model our culture of innovation, teamwork, and customer-first service.
• Ensure every solution and customer experience reflects the quality and integrity our company is known for.
Qualifications:
Required:
• Candidates must live in or near Portland, OR.
• Proven track record (typically 8+ years) in solutions architecture or systems engineering roles, designing and supporting complex solutions in large enterprise environments.
• Broad Technical knowledge in multiple IT domains - for example, enterprise networking (data center, campus LAN/WAN, wireless), cloud computing and virtualization, security infrastructure (next-gen firewalls, zero trust), and collaboration/unified communications.
• Architectural thinker who approaches problems holistically. Able to weave together hardware, software, and services from a broad portfolio of vendors to meet complex customer needs.
• Experience working with and leveraging OEM partner solutions in areas like cloud, storage, cybersecurity, etc., to drive successful outcomes is highly valued.
• Sharp business acumen and consultative skills - you listen to a client’s business objectives and translate them into technical requirements and strategy.
• Comfortable engaging with executive stakeholders to articulate the business value of technology solutions in clear, impactful terms.
• Skilled communicator with strong presentation and demo abilities. Adept at simplifying complex ideas for both technical and executive audiences.
• Illustrate rigor and discipline with documentation and written communication.
• Experience working in cross-functional teams (sales, engineering, delivery) and with external partners.
• Able to lead by influence, manage expectations, and drive alignment across stakeholders to move deals forward.
• Education: Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field (Engineering, Computer Science, etc.) or equivalent practical experience.
• Travel: Ability to travel up to ~25% for client meetings within the region.
Preferred:
• Certifications in the relevant areas (Cisco, Dell, etc.) or equivalent experience is a plus.
