Petrogas - Truck Drivers (Slave Lake, Sundre, or Fort Saskatchewan)

Petrogas, a subsidiary of AltaGas, is seeking Truck Drivers for all areas of our operations. As a company, we are committed to delivering products responsibly and safely. As a Truck Driver, you will play a critical role in supporting our field operations by ensuring the safe and efficient transport and handling of fluids and materials. This position requires strict adherence to NSC and TDG regulations, AltaGas safety protocols, and a strong commitment to environmental stewardship.

Positions available

  • Fluid Haulers- Lease Operator & Company Driver (Class 1)
  • Liquid Haulers- Lease Operator & Company Driver (Class 1)
  • Vac Truck Driver- Company Driver (Class 1: Semi-Vac, Class 3: Combo Vac)

Our company Drivers work a 10-day on, 4-day off schedule with exceptions made due to operational demand.

Responsibilities:

  • Conduct pre-trip and post inspections and hazard assessments before each job.
  • Ensure proper load securement and safe handling of all transported materials.
  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation, including electronic logbooks (E-Logs) and safety reports.
  • Maintain a safety-oriented disposition
  • Report all incidents, near misses, and equipment issues promptly.
  • Attend and actively participate in safety meetings and training sessions.
  • Perform other duties as assigned to support operational needs.
  • Effectively communicate with dispatchers, management & shop
  • Adhere to all local, provincial and federal traffic laws & regulations

Qualifications

  • 1-3 years of relevant experience in truck driving operations, specifically in the oil and gas sector.
  • Valid Class 1 or 3 driver's license with air brake endorsement.
  • Clean driver's abstract with no suspensions or convictions in the past 3 years.
  • Ability to pass background checks and drug & alcohol screening.
  • Valid safety certifications, including:
    • Standard First Aid
    • H2S Alive
    • Confined Space Entry/Monitor
    • CSO
  • Strong understanding of oil and gas field operations.
  • Proven leadership and mentoring capabilities.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Work Environment & Physical Demands:

  • Exposure to varying weather conditions and physically demanding tasks.
  • Field-based role requiring travel within the designated area.
  • Use of PPE, including steel-toed boots, coveralls, safety glasses, hard hats, and hearing protection.
  • Ability to lift heavy items and work in confined spaces or at heights.
  • On-call availability required, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
