Operations Supervisor - Material Recovery Facility (MRF)

Location: Albuquerque, NM

Reports To: Plant Manager

Waste Connections is seeking an Operations Supervisor for our BARCO Albuquerque Materials Recovery Facility. This role is suited for a hands-on leader ready to advance their career while supporting daily operations. Waste Connections is a leading, publicly traded provider of non-hazardous waste collection, transfer, disposal, and recycling services across the U.S. and Canada.

Position Overview

The Operations Supervisor provides onsite leadership at a highvolume Materials Recovery Facility. Responsibilities include maintaining safe, efficient, and reliable production by overseeing personnel, equipment, and material flow.

Key Responsibilities

Supervise hourly employees across assigned shifts

Monitor equipment performance, material flow, and production quality

Enforce safety standards and respond to incidents

Manage staffing levels, break schedules, and rotation plans

Support continuous improvement initiatives and minimize downtime

Communicate shift performance and key issues to management

Qualifications

High School Diploma or equivalent required

2+ years of experience in operations, manufacturing, recycling, or similar fields

Previous supervisory or leadership experience

Strong safety awareness and decisionmaking ability

Ability to work in a fastpaced industrial environment

Preferred: MRF or recycling facility experience; bilingual English/Spanish

Preferred: 2+ years operating light to heavy equipment
