Job description

Lead Caregiver - Senior Home Care
Visiting Angels, Columbus
  • $19 to $21 per hour base pay, set by experience
  • Performance bonuses
  • Paid time off and paid holidays
  • Mileage covered
  • Health and benefits package
About the role
We're hiring trusted, experienced caregivers to be the person we call when it matters most: covering a shift when a teammate is out, helping a brand-new client feel at home on day one, and showing up alongside our newer caregivers to coach them through real-world situations.
What a week looks like
About 85% of your time is spent in clients' homes, covering the shifts where we need our best person in the field. That can mean:
  • Stepping in for a same-day call-off so our client never goes without care
  • Being the first caregiver in the door for a new client and setting the tone
  • Working alongside a newer caregiver to model how we deliver care at Visiting Angels
  • Conducting quality visits and giving our office team a clear read on what's working in the field

The remaining time is at our office here in Columbus, Ohio, helping the team prepare for new client starts, support active care plans, and keep our standards high. You'll also rotate through on-call coverage for evenings, weekends, and holidays.
Who we're looking for
  • Have at least 2 years of professional caregiving experience (home care a plus)
  • Have a track record of showing up, on time, every shift
  • Stay calm and steady when things get unpredictable
  • Communicate clearly, listen without judgment, and treat every client with dignity
  • Drive a reliable vehicle, hold a valid license, and have current auto insurance
  • Have a high school diploma or equivalent
  • Are comfortable using basic computer apps and electronic documentation tools
Why Visiting Angels Columbus West
For more than 30 years, we've been Columbus families' choice for compassionate in-home care that lets seniors age in place with dignity and peace of mind. We're a local, family-owned agency, not a corporate call center, and our caregivers are the heart of what we do. The Lead Caregiver role is one of the most respected positions on our team, with a direct line to leadership and a real say in how we deliver care.
