Job description

Robert Half is seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Senior Accountant to join our Full-Time Engagement Professionals team in either our White Plains, NY or Stamford, CT office. This opportunity is ideal for an accounting professional who enjoys working in dynamic environments, supporting critical finance functions, and building long-term career growth through diverse and challenging engagements.


Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare and review journal entries, account reconciliations, and financial statements
  • Lead month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close activities
  • Analyze financial results and support variance analysis and reporting
  • Ensure general ledger accuracy and compliance with accounting policies and procedures
  • Assist with audit preparation and coordinate supporting documentation
  • Support budgeting, forecasting, and internal control processes
  • Mentor junior accounting staff and provide guidance on accounting best practices
  • Identify and implement process improvements to increase efficiency and accuracy

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
  • 3+ years of progressive accounting experience, preferably in a senior accountant or general ledger role
  • Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting principles
  • Advanced Excel skills and experience with ERP/accounting systems
  • Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills
  • Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate across teams
  • CPA or CPA-track is a plus
