Job description

Join a group of passionate advocates on our mission to improve the lives of youth! Rite of Passage Team is hiring for an Awake Night Staff at Southern California Treatment Program in Tustin, Placentia, and Costa Mesa, CA

Rite of Passage’s Southern California Treatment Program is located in a thriving community known for its cultural diversity, sunny weather, and proximity to world-class educational institutions, that allows our team members to enjoy an inspiring and supportive environment where they can make a meaningful impact while growing both personally and professionally.

Pay: Entry rate starting at $19.00 per hour; $500.00 Sign-On Bonus for Full-Time Direct Care position paid out at 6 Months; $1,000 Bonus after successful completion of Essential Skills Training within the first 90 Days!

Perks and Benefits: You will be eligible for Medical insurance on the first of the month following 60 days of full-time employment. You will be eligible for the rest of the Rite of Passage Benefits Package immediately after 90 days of full-time employment, 403b match of up to 6% after 1 year of employment, Paid Time Off that can be used as soon as it accrues and more! What you will do: You will provide overnight safety and around-the-clock supervision for our residential youth and promote an atmosphere that is professional and supportive. You will monitor and document their behaviors and actions, participate and assist with educational and recreational activities, and work in collaboration with other departments to establish and meet the goals of each youth’s treatment plan.

To be considered you must: Demonstrate empathy, patience, respect, and a genuine desire to work with troubled teens ~ Be at least 21 years old, pass a criminal background check, drug screening, physical exam, and TB test ~ Possess a current State Driver’s License with an acceptable driving record for the past three years ~ Have relevant life experience in child welfare, mental health, or juvenile justice, either as a mentor or caregiver ~ Must possess one of the following qualifications: a Bachelor’s degree, a valid Child Development Teaching Permit, 12 semester units in Early Childhood Education, Adolescent Development, Psychology, certification as an Alcohol or Drug Counselor, or one year of full-time experience in a group home, therapeutic program, or substance abuse treatment program.

A Shift: Sunday - Wednesday 10:00 pm - 8:00 am
B Shift: Wednesday - Saturday 10:00 pm - 8:00 am
