Terminal Manager
This person is responsible for leading and developing associates with a focus on motivating, mentoring, and coaching. (S)he is accountable for engaging their team to maintain the highest levels of safety, quality, attendance, and performance. The person in this role will need to be able to show strong leadership, the ability to address budgetary objectives and the desire to equip their team with the tools needed for success. The TerminalManager will ensure that daily departmental goals are met to achieve established objectives in Safety, Service, Quality, and Cost.
Key Responsibilities:
- Guideanddirecthourlyassociatestomeetorexceedoperationalgoals.Monitorperformanceand provide coaching, mentoring, and employees development.
- LeverageKeyPerformanceIndicators(KPIs)tomakeongoingimprovementsandenhancements.
- Take ownership of hub inbound and outbound operations including Staging, deluxing, repairing, returns and claims. Ensure audits take places for all orders for following days deliveries.
- Accountableformaintainingon-timeshipments,peopleutilizationanddamage.Provideperiodic reports and ensure accurate communication to all employees.
- Communicatepoliciestoassociatesandactastheprimaryinformationsourcefortheteam. Maintain compliance, operational consistency and take corrective action when needed.
- Ensureworldclassserviceforinternal/externalcustomers.
- Maintainhealthandsafetystandardsaswellaspromoteapositivehealthandsafetyculturewithin the organization
- Directandoverseejobassignments.Plandaily,weekly,monthly,andpeakseasonlaborschedules.
- Achievefinancialplansandbudgetobjectives.
- ActivelypromoteandliveMetropolitan’smission,vision,companyvaluesandleadershipprinciples.
- Bachelor'sdegreeinBusiness,Operations,SupplyChainManagement,orrelatedfieldpreferred
- 3-5yearsofrelevantdistributionmanagement/leadershipexperience
- Strongabilitytocommunicateeffectively(written&verbal),withexcellentinterpersonaland customer relations skills
- Highlyorganizedandprocessorientated.
- Abilitytomulti-taskeffectively.
- HighlyproficientinMicrosoftOffice(Excel,Word,Outlook).
- Basic quantitative/financial analysis skills.
- Exemplifiesstrongownershipoverprojectsfromstarttofinish.
- WarehouseManagementSystem(WMS)experience.
