Substance Abuse Counselor / Co-Occurring Specialist (ACTT Program)

Pyramid Healthcare is seeking a compassionate and motivated Substance Abuse Counselor / Co-Occurring Specialist to join our Assertive Community Treatment Team (ACTT) in Jacksonville, NC.

This position provides direct outpatient Substance Use Disorder (SUD) services to individuals living with serious mental illness and co-occurring substance use disorders in community-based settings.

Through programs including PHP, IOP, MAT, Cross-Area Services, ACTT, and other specialty services, Pyramid Healthcare is a recognized leader in behavioral healthcare across North Carolina. We are committed to meeting clients where they are and creating individualized, recovery-focused treatment plans that support long-term success.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities
  • Provide community-based substance use treatment services to ACTT clients in homes and community settings

  • Conduct individual, group, and family therapy sessions

  • Complete LOCAs, pre-authorizations, and clinical reviews in a timely manner

  • Develop and maintain treatment plans, NCTOPPs, discharge plans, and aftercare plans

  • Collaborate with families, referral sources, and support systems

  • Deliver interventions for individuals with severe and persistent mental illness and substance use disorders

  • Participate in on-call and emergency service rotation, including crisis planning and hospital diversion

  • Attend treatment team meetings and required trainings

  • Perform additional duties as assigned

Required Qualifications
  • LCAS(A) or CADC required

  • Ability to obtain required certification/licensure within 90 days of hire (if applicable)

  • Qualified Professional (QP) status per 10A NCAC 27G.0104

  • Valid North Carolina driver's license

  • Ability and willingness to travel locally throughout the Jacksonville area
