Job description

GENERAL JOB DESCRIPTION
The Team Leader supports the Production Supervisor by coordinating and guiding daily activities within their assigned department in a composite manufacturing environment. This role ensures that production, quality, and safety standards are consistently met while providing hands-on support and assistance to associates. The Team Leader helps communicate priorities, organize work, and promote teamwork. While the Team Leader may help direct daily activities, all associates report directly to the Production Supervisor. Supervisory responsibilities, including performance management, evaluations, and disciplinary action, remain with the Production Supervisor.
Requirements
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Support the Production Supervisor in communicating daily work assignments and priorities to associates.
Assist with coordinating workflow to meet production schedules, escalating issues to the Production Supervisor when needed.
Provide hands-on support in equipment setup, troubleshooting, and operations as appropriate.
Help associates follow standard operating procedures, work instructions, and safety protocols.
Monitor in-process quality checks and communicate findings to the Production Supervisor and Quality Control teams.
Act as a liaison between associates and the Production Supervisor to ensure clear communication.
Provide guidance and informal peer support to new associates during training under supervisor direction.
Document shift activity and provide updates to the Production Supervisor.
Promote a positive team environment that supports safety, productivity, and accountability.
Perform additional duties as assigned.

EDUCATION & TRAINING
High school diploma or equivalent (GED or HSE) required.
Additional training in manufacturing processes, quality systems, or leadership development preferred
2+ years of experience in a manufacturing environment.
Familiarity with ISO 9001 or other quality management systems.
Proficiency in reading and interpreting technical drawings, blueprints, and work instructions.
Prior experience in a lead, mentorship, or training capacity preferred.
SKILLS & ABILITIES
Strong communication and coordination skills.
Ability to support and guide team members while maintaining alignment with supervisor direction.
Good mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills.
Ability to lift and move up to 50 pounds and stand for extended periods of time.
Frequently required to reach and use hands and arms continuously

The Team Leader position is a 2nd shift position.
1st Shift: Monday through Friday 7:00am - 3:00pm EST
2nd Shift: Monday through Friday 3:00pm - 11:00pm EST
3rd Shift: Sunday through Friday 11:00pm - 7:00am EST
Hours and shifts may vary depending on needs of the department
