Job description

At Massive, the Growth Specialist is responsible for bringing new clients onto the platform and setting them up for long-term success, leading with curiosity and putting the client first to open doors and close deals.

Are you someone who leads with curiosity, puts the client first, and knows how to open doors and close deals? At Massive, the Growth Specialist is responsible for bringing new clients onto the platform and setting them up for long-term success.

You will work closely with prospects to understand their data needs and workflows, and position Massive's solutions in a way that genuinely addresses their challenges. You will collaborate with Marketing, Product, and the Account Management team to ensure every new client relationship starts on the right foot.

Responsibilities
  • Source and engage new prospects across financial services, fintech, and the developer community through outbound outreach, networking, referrals, and industry events
  • Build and execute a territory strategy that reflects a clear understanding of your market and how it maps to Massive's growth objectives
  • Develop relationships across prospect organizations, from technical teams evaluating our APIs to the senior stakeholders making the final call
  • Lead every conversation with genuine curiosity, investing time in understanding a prospect's workflows, data challenges, and business goals before putting a solution on the table
  • Draw on your knowledge of Massive's product catalog and data partnerships to find the right fit for each prospect
  • Write clear, well-structured proposals that frame the client's situation, the recommended solution, and the path to getting started
  • Own the full sales cycle from first conversation through signed contract, including demonstrations, commercial negotiation, and close
  • Keep your pipeline healthy and balanced, maintaining coverage across opportunities at every stage of the sales cycle
  • Keep Salesforce current with accurate activity, pipeline status, and forecast data
  • Work closely with the Account Management team to hand off new clients smoothly and set them up for a strong start
  • Follow developments in the market, the competitive landscape, and the regulatory environment to stay sharp and spot new opportunities early
Skills & Qualifications
  • 3 to 8 years in a sales or business development role with a consistent track record of hitting or exceeding quota, ideally within financial data, fintech, SaaS, or capital markets
  • A solid understanding of how different types of financial services firms operate, what drives their decision-making, and where data fits into their day-to-day
  • The credibility to earn trust quickly with both technical and business audiences, built on genuine product knowledge and an understanding of the client's world
  • Comfort discussing technical concepts such as APIs, data delivery formats, and developer workflows; you don't need to write the code, but you need to understand what matters
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, whether you're presenting to a developer or walking a CIO through a business case
  • Commercial sharpness and confidence in negotiations, with the ability to structure deals and communicate value without over-relying on price
  • Organized and disciplined in how you manage your pipeline, with solid forecasting habits and proficiency in Salesforce and tools such as LinkedIn Sales Navigator or ZoomInfo
Nice to Have
  • Experience selling financial market data products such as reference data, pricing feeds, alternative data, tick data, or indices, with an understanding of exchange policies and market data licensing
  • Background selling to or working within buy-side firms (asset managers, hedge funds, proprietary trading firms), sell-side desks, or financial technology teams
  • Familiarity with developer-centric products and product-led growth motions
  • Understanding of systematic or quantitative investing workflows
  • Experience at a fintech startup or financial data vendor such as Bloomberg, Refinitiv/LSEG, FactSet, ICE, or S&P
  • Professional certifications such as CFA or MBA
