Job description

The responsibilities of this job include, but are not limited to the following:

  • Generating regularly scheduled and ad-hoc reporting as assigned;
  • Analyzing data to help identify trends, improve accuracy, and develop process efficiencies;
  • Developing and maintaining reports to illustrate key performance indicators for departments;
  • Monitoring existing reports and programs to ensure accuracy of information;
  • Supporting the Data Analytics team with research and/or data validation projects of limited complexity;
  • Performing quantitative analysis and offering guidance on a defined set of subjects in support of defined goals and strategic planning;
  • Querying and organizing data from disparate Patient First sources to assemble reporting packages that support various department inquiries under supervision of department subject matter experts;
  • Serving as the point of contact for narrowly defined Patient First business unit requests;
  • Attending department meetings as needed to address data questions and/or gather requirements for requests of higher complexity;
  • Completing all assignments in a timely manner and escalating complex data needs to appropriate team members.

Minimum education and professional requirements include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Bachelor's degree in business management, data analytics, healthcare economics or related field of study preferred, or 1-2 years of related work experience;
  • Excellent computer skills with strong knowledge of Excel and SQL, including experience with data visualization programs (e.g., Tableau or PowerBI);
  • Ability to work independently and as a team;
  • Health care industry knowledge and familiarity with medical billing and/or healthcare informatics (preferred);
  • Ability to prioritize, multitask, and manage ambiguous tasks while meeting deadlines;
  • Ability to serve as the informatics contact for a limited and defined scope of Patient First end-users;
  • Excellent research and analytical skills;
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
