The Role

The System Integration Engineer II is responsible for supporting the integration, installation, validation, and delivery of In‑Flight Entertainment and Connectivity (IFEC) systems on commercial aircraft platforms. This role serves as a key technical liaison between Panasonic Avionics, aircraft manufacturers (OEMs), airline customers, and suppliers throughout the aircraft production and delivery lifecycle.

The successful candidate will contribute to electrical, mechanical, systems, and aircraft integration activities, provide technical troubleshooting and resolution support, ensure compliance with engineering requirements and regulatory standards, and help drive successful aircraft deliveries while maintaining strong customer relationships.

Responsibilities Aircraft System Integration
  • Support the integration, installation, testing, and certification of IFEC systems on commercial aircraft.
  • Provide on‑site engineering support to aircraft manufacturers, airline customers, suppliers, and internal stakeholders throughout aircraft production, assembly, and delivery activities.
  • Participate in aircraft inspections and acceptance activities, including evaluation of system installations and implementation of approved electrical or mechanical modifications as required.
  • Troubleshoot hardware, software, integration, and installation issues occurring during aircraft production, ground testing, and flight test activities.
  • Document technical issues, coordinate resolution activities, and ensure timely closure through collaboration with engineering and support organizations.
  • Support system verification, validation, and acceptance testing activities.
  • Provide technical guidance to OEM and airline personnel regarding operation, testing, and maintenance of Panasonic systems.
  • Support aircraft customer acceptance flights and delivery activities when required.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable engineering processes, quality procedures, and regulatory requirements.
Technical Coordination and Customer Support
  • Maintain effective working relationships with OEM customers, airline operators, suppliers, and internal functional organizations.
  • Respond to customer inquiries and technical issues accurately, professionally, and within established timelines.
  • Collaborate with aircraft manufacturer organizations including Design Engineering, Procurement, Supply Chain, Quality, Manufacturing, and Chief Engineering functions to resolve integration and compliance issues.
  • Support technical reviews, engineering investigations, and resolution of product‑related concerns.
  • Share technical knowledge through training, mentoring, and collaboration with team members and stakeholders.
  • Escalate significant technical, schedule, or customer concerns to management as appropriate.
Program Execution and Reporting
  • Support aircraft delivery readiness reviews and ensure technical deliverables are completed on schedule.
  • Compile engineering, production, and integration data required for aircraft delivery documentation and reporting.
  • Communicate program status, risks, issues, and customer concerns to management and project stakeholders.
  • Coordinate with cross‑functional teams including Program Management, Engineering, Quality, Supply Chain, Logistics, Repair Services, and Customer Support organizations.
  • Perform additional duties and responsibilities as assigned.

The pay range of $82,000 - $138,000 is just one component of Panasonic’s total package. The final offer amount may vary based on factors including but not limited to individual’s knowledge, skills, experience, and location. In addition, this role may be eligible for discretionary bonuses and incentives. The minimum hourly wage for this role will be the greater of the posted range, or minimum wage for the location where the employee will be working, subject to local minimum wage requirements.

Qualifications

Education / Experience Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Systems Engineering, or related engineering discipline required.
  • Master's degree is a plus.
  • Experience supporting aircraft systems integration, avionics, cabin systems, inflight entertainment systems, satellite communications, or related aerospace products.
  • Experience working with commercial aircraft manufacturers, airline customers, aerospace suppliers, or aircraft modification programs is preferred.
  • Early‑career candidates with strong academic credentials, internships, co‑op experience, or relevant aerospace project experience are encouraged to apply.
  • Experience with data analytics, business intelligence, or digital engineering tools (e.g., Power BI, SQL, Access, AI‑enabled engineering tools) is desirable.

Knowledge Skills / Requirements:

  • Siemens NX, Capital, Teamcenter
  • PTC Creo, RSD
  • Working knowledge of aircraft electrical and avionics systems, including analog and digital electronics, networking technologies, and data communications.
  • Familiarity with Ethernet, TCP/IP networking, fiber‑optic systems, video distribution systems, and aircraft data buses.
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, wiring diagrams, installation data, schematics, and technical documentation.
  • Understanding of aerospace regulations, certification requirements, and industry standards, including FAA, EASA, and ATA requirements.
  • Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and root‑cause investigation skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast‑paced and highly technical environment.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills with the ability to interface professionally with customers, OEMs, suppliers, and internal stakeholders.
  • Proficiency with engineering and productivity software tools.
  • Familiarity with aircraft test equipment, diagnostic tools, and system validation methodologies.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently while contributing effectively within cross‑functional teams.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience supporting Boeing and/or Airbus aircraft programs.
  • Knowledge of aircraft interiors, cabin systems, connectivity solutions, and IFEC products.
  • Familiarity with aircraft production environments, Final Assembly Line (FAL) operations, and aircraft delivery processes.
  • Experience with systems engineering methodologies, requirements management, and verification/validation activities.
  • Knowledge of emerging technologies, including artificial intelligence applications, digital transformation initiatives, and data analytics tools within aerospace engineering environments.
