Job Description

The State Product Manager is responsible for the performance of assigned state(s), including achieving growth and profit targets supporting our Commercial Auto lines of business. The State Product Manager also assists in the development, implementation, and monitoring of rating plans, risk management guidelines, programs, and procedures for assigned state(s) and serves as a subject matter expert on complex issues that require innovative and creative solutions. Key Responsibilities

• Analyzes statistical, non-statistical, legal, and regulatory information to evaluate risk of potential market segments.

• Implements Risk Management, Pricing, Filing, and Product strategies using fact based decisions based upon a knowledge of the market, which includes competitors, regulatory and legal environment, claims handling trends, and distribution channel / agent relationships.

• Develops strategies and ensures execution of state level plans.

• Analyzes new business, retention, loss, exposure, underwriting and premium trends for state(s) to make corrective actions to improve growth and profitability.

• Monitors the overall performance of the business, including profitability, growth, and agency engagement.

• Builds and leverages strong relationships with internal partners including Line Management, Field Sales, Underwriting, Marketing, IT, Legal, Compliance and Claims to form consensus on and move to needed actions

• Prioritizes and manages initiatives for assigned state(s).

• Supports training efforts and coaches less experienced team members.

• Serves as a subject matter expert and can consult on complex issues from both an internal and external perspective.

• Articulate financial results and impact of strategy to senior management.

Compensation offered for this role is 100,000.00 - 170,500.00 annually and is based on experience and qualifications.
