Job description

Maschmeyer Concrete is seeking an experienced Claims Manager to oversee the day-to-day handling of the company’s workers’ compensation, commercial auto, general liability, property, and other insurance claims. The primary responsibility of the Claims Manager is to ensure claims are reported, documented, and actively managed from the time an accident or incident occurs through resolution. This is a hands‑on position that will work directly with Team Members, managers, insurance adjusters, medical providers, attorneys, and other partners to gather information, coordinate next steps, and keep claims moving toward resolution.

Required Education, Experience, and Skills
  • Experience handling workers’ compensation, commercial auto, general liability, property, or other insurance claims
  • Experience working with insurance adjusters, carriers, third‑party administrators, medical providers, and attorneys
  • Experience in ready‑mix concrete, construction materials, transportation, construction, or a related industry preferred
  • Knowledge of claims reporting, investigation, documentation, and follow‑up processes
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Excellent communication and follow‑up skills
  • Ability to manage a moderate volume of open claims and competing priorities
  • Strong computer and recordkeeping skills
Tasks and Responsibilities
  • Receive and review accident, injury, property damage, and other incident reports
  • Report claims to insurance carriers and third‑party administrators
  • Gather required claim documentation, including accident reports, photographs, witness statements, video, medical information, and other supporting records
  • Communicate with Team Members and managers to obtain missing information and provide updates on open claims
  • Maintain accurate and complete electronic claim files
  • Follow up regularly with adjusters and insurance carriers regarding open claims
  • Coordinate workers’ compensation claims, including medical appointments, work status documentation, restrictions, and return‑to‑work information
  • Communicate work restrictions and claim updates to Team Member Services and operational management
  • Coordinate documentation and follow‑up for commercial vehicle accidents
  • Assist with general liability and property damage claims
  • Obtain repair estimates, invoices, medical records, statements, and other documentation as needed
  • Track open claims, important deadlines, claim status, and outstanding documentation
  • Review claim activity and identify claims requiring escalation
  • Respond to requests for information from adjusters, insurance carriers, and attorneys
  • Assist with other claims‑related administrative and coordination responsibilities as needed
