Job description

The Application Analyst will support the delivery, maintenance, and optimization of business-critical systems for a global maritime energy transportation company operating one of the world's largest LNG carrier fleets. The Application Analyst will apply critical thinking in supporting and delivering services to a constantly evolving business and technical landscape. Strong relationships will be established with IT and process stakeholders to understand support requirements and how the supported systems are used.


Responsibilities

  • Establish strong relationships with process stakeholders to understand and prioritize work items; create specifications, process/data maps, and use cases, with a specific lens on identifying opportunities for process automation and low-code solutions.
  • Identify, track, and resolve application problems; leverage automation tools to streamline day-to-day troubleshooting and performance monitoring.
  • Manage application environments for testing; collaborate with other Analysts to design and operate data interfaces and APIs, focusing on low-code integration strategies.
  • Champion data integrity and reliability through education and monitoring; mentor junior IT members on both system support and emerging automation practices.
  • Support the new vessel onboarding process and provide routine/non-routine administration for application use and security access.
  • Create or update standardized application support documentation, incorporating automated workflow guides where applicable.
  • Coordinate with the global Vessel Systems Support group to test, implement, and support solutions on the vessels.
  • Work with the Analytics team to improve data quality; utilize low-code tools or agentic automation concepts to optimize data warehouse integrations and identify table relationships.
  • Develop reports and dashboards to assist in identifying KPIs and trends, utilizing automated reporting features where possible.


Required Skills & Experience

  • 3-5 years working with process/functional owners and providing 2nd level operational support for large business applications.
  • Experience with RFPs and a full application lifecycle.
  • Demonstrated ability to learn and adapt; experience or high interest in low-code environments (preferably OutSystems) and automation platforms (preferably UiPath) to improve business systems.
  • Strong knowledge of continuous quality improvement, management information systems techniques, and change control procedures.
  • Self-starter and results-driven; able to prioritize and complete tasks in a timely manner with minimum guidance.
  • Proactive, dependable, and positive attitude with experience coordinating deployments across multiple stakeholder groups.
  • Solid SQL querying experience, and experience with report/dashboard writing software such as Power BI.
  • Outgoing personality with excellent communication skills; comfortable delivering presentations and leading meetings.
  • Flexibility to provide after-hours support; experience supporting remote locations in multiple time zones is an asset.
  • Available to travel to regional offices and to vessels to service software, if required.


Starting Salary: $85,000

Location: Vancouver, BC
