Technical Project Manager (Data Platform / PMO)

Overview

This role will support a Hadoop-based shared data platform used across Risk and Finance Technology. The team is evolving from a less formal operating model into a more mature PMO structure, and they need a Technical Project Manager to help drive delivery while introducing consistency in processes, documentation, and stakeholder coordination.

You will play a key role in owning delivery across multiple tenant teams onboarding to the platform, while also helping the organization adapt to new PMO expectations and workflows.

Responsibilities:

Own end-to-end onboarding of teams onto the data platform

Support high-level architecture documentation and presentations

Drive delivery across multiple workstreams and tenant teams

Manage backlogs, timelines, and release coordination

Lead stakeholder communication (status updates, leadership reporting)

Help implement PMO structure (documentation, governance, budgeting)

What They’re Looking For

6–8 years of experience )

Strong project management experience in technical environments

Comfortable with data flows / architecture conversations (ETL, backend systems)

Experience managing multiple stakeholders and concurrent initiatives

Strong communication skills (tech + business audiences)

Familiar with Agile / SDLC

Tools: Jira, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio, SharePoint, Teams

Nice to Have

Data platform / onboarding / migration experience

Financial services (Risk, Treasury, etc.)

Exposure to Hadoop, data lineage, Oracle, Python

Quickly takes ownership of onboarding initiatives

Builds relationships with key stakeholders and tenant teams

Drives a clear delivery roadmap

Brings structure and consistency to a team adapting to a new PMO model

Key Notes (Internal Use / Recruiter POV)

70% delivery / 30% PMO → not a pure PMO role

“Technical PM” = needs to understand architecture, not build it

Team is evolving, not broken — good for candidates who like building structure

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract position based out of Charlotte, NC.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $75.00 - $85.00/hr.
