Job description

Job Summary:
Lear Corporation is a leading company in the manufacturing sector that focuses on innovative technologies and teamwork. They are seeking a MES Application Deployment & Support Specialist to implement and support their proprietary LFG applications across several manufacturing plants in North America.
Responsibilities:
• Implement and support the Lear Finished Goods (LFG) system – Lear’s internally developed shop floor shipping software
• Coordinate with plant and corporate engineering teams to understand the shipping process and utilize that understanding to configure and integrate LFG
• Develop and manage project plans for implementation projects assigned to you
• Support the pre-shipment testing and debugging of the shipping systems
• Identify necessary enhancements of the system and submit change requests to the LFG development team
• Train the plant IT and engineering teams in the operation and configuration of the LFG applications
• Provide troubleshooting support to plants on existing installations throughout the region as an expert of the system
• Interact and communicate effectively with all levels of Plant and Corporate personnel
• Build productive relationships with Lear colleagues, and provide knowledge, support, and expertise
• Work with other technology experts to develop, implement, and optimize the operating environment to best achieve business results
• Support Automation initiatives from an MES perspective
• Travel when necessary, up to 50%, to support plant launches
Qualifications:
Required:
• Bachelor’s Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or Electrical Engineering
• Motivated, self-starter that can actively listen, learn, and execute without much direction, but can also operate effectively as a team member
• Positive attitude with the ability to stay professional and focused under pressure
• Strong problem-solving skills with logical troubleshooting mindset
• Strong understanding of the Windows PC/Server environment
• Strong communication skills (verbal & written), with the ability to simplify and convey technical concepts to non-technical colleagues and management
• Project Management experience
Preferred:
• Experience in a manufacturing IT environment
• Experience with MES (manufacturing execution systems)
• Understanding of TCP/IP communication protocols
• Knowledge of PLC & OPC functionality and capabilities
• Experience with SQL server, SQL queries, triggers, and stored procedures
• Experience configuring Windows server environments and thin client hardware
• Knowledge of physical and logical networking concepts
• Experience with virtual server environments
