SOFTWARE ENGINEER (C++)
FULL TIME, EXEMPT
Location: Victor, NY // HYBRID position (in office as required by job duties, minimum of 1 day per week)
REDCOM Laboratories, Inc., a U.S. company that specializes in the development of advanced strategic, operational, and tactical communication solutions, is looking for a Software Engineer to join our team.
In this position, you will be creating and enhancing solutions that power critical communications around the world. You will join the development team for our Sigma software platform. Working in a team environment, you will help architect, design, develop and support applications that provide secure real-time voice, video, and chat communication capabilities. We are looking for someone who enjoys coding, learning, and solving problems - someone who thrives while working in a supportive team environment where you can have fun, and where the products you will work on make a tangible difference around the world every day.
Specifically, you will be designing and implementing applications used for secure real-time communications (including Voice over IP (VoIP) and Radio over IP (RoIP)) within committed timelines. You will be primarily working in C++ but may also use other languages as needed. A successful candidate will have a working knowledge of modern C++ features equivalent to one or more years of industry experience with the language. In addition to new development, you will be engaging with our customer support team to address customer issues. We operate in an Agile/Scrum environment and use current software development practices such as unit testing, code reviews and continuous integration. While we will expect you to work within our existing development framework, we also hope that you will bring new ideas and ways to work to the table and help our team grow.
QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Proficient in C++, including advanced knowledge of modern language features and libraries such as STL and Boost
  • Understanding of modern object-oriented design and architecture
  • Working knowledge of FreeBSD, Linux, or other Unix environments
  • Familiarity with IP/Networking concepts and programming
  • Strong computer science fundamentals: data structures, design patterns, and algorithms
  • A Bachelor's degree in Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or related fields or equivalent experience

Software Engineer: Hiring Range $66,000 - $77,000
Senior Software Engineer: Hiring Range $76,000 - $87,500
