Maintenance Team Member: Looking to add another member to our hard-working team! Collectively, the team works to provide general maintenance and upkeep to the agency owned and rented homes and offices.
 

Guidewire Inc., is a Non-Profit Human Service Agency supporting people with disabilities in community settings.  We are seeking a dynamic team player to join our maintenance team.  The ideal candidate will have a strong work history, great attitude, strong attention to detail, ability to see the big picture on projects and a willingness to learn!  Previous maintenance experience is a plus but not required.  This is a full-time, Monday-Friday position, with some evening and weekend on-call responsibilities.   Guidewire Inc., is an agency with multiple office locations, but the maintenance team is based out of our Chicopee office.   

Job Responsibilities: (Not all Inclusive)

• Responsible for general repair and upkeep of all properties owned and rented by Guidewire, Inc. • Responsible for moving furniture as needed. • Liaison, communicate and consult with landlords regarding the completion of needed repairs. • Responsible for coordinating subcontracted work. • Responsible for compliance with local building codes. • Responsible for accepting and responding to calls after hours for emergency situations. • Responsible for the organized submission of receipts associated with completed repairs and/or purchases. • Responsible for organization and upkeep of agency maintenance vehicle. • Responsible for keeping the agencies’ tools in good operating condition and always inventoried. • Maintenance Personnel report directly to the Facilities Field Manager, and the team is required to meet weekly with the Facilities Director. • Maintenance Personnel are required to observe and adhere to safety protocols at all times. • Any and all other related duties.

 Job Tasks May Include :

Painting • Drywall Patching • Sheet Rock removal and replacement • Doorknob removal and replacement • Door Frame removal and replacement. • Basic Appliance Repair • Basic Plumbing Repair (i.e., sink faucets replacement, shower head replacement, toilet part replacement). • Toilet removal and replacement • Basic Carpentry (i.e., building door trim, repairing drawers • Any and all other related duties.

Requirements:

  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED).
  • Must possess and maintain reliable transportation, valid Driver’s License, and automobile insurance.
  • Must be able to pass MVR/CORI/Fingerprinting National Background Check
  • Detail orientated and strong organizational skills.
  • Ability to prioritize and multi-task while exercising time management skills and proper focus.
  • Strong interpersonal & customer relations skills.
  • Ability to lift 60 lbs., stand, walk, bend, and reach repetitively throughout the day.
  • Ability to use common tools such as hammers, hoists, saws, drills, and wrenches.
  • Experience with precision measuring instruments or electronic testing devices.
  • Experience performing routine maintenance.
