Job description

The Role
You'll build a semantic layer that makes our metrics trustworthy, dashboards that make stakeholders self-sufficient, and training programs that stick. You won't just support analytics; you'll shape how the company thinks with data. You'll sit within the Data Analytics organization reporting to the Senior Manager of Analytics Engineering, working at the intersection of data engineering and business intelligence.
This is a hybrid role based in Chicago, IL. In office requirement once every 2 weeks at our office in River North.
Responsibilities
  • Build clear, accurate Tableau visualizations and data sources that empower stakeholders to explore and understand their data
  • Design and maintain the semantic layer serving as the single source of truth across all data consumption
  • Act as the primary analytics point of contact for a line of business, building strong working relationships and ensuring data deliverables align with business priorities
  • Deliver data and insights to stakeholders through analysis, dashboards, and support of self-service analytical tools including AI agents
  • Foster an environment of self-service analytics by providing domain and tool expertise
  • Continuously build business acumen of Green Thumb Industries and the Cannabis industry
  • Maintain data integrity and governance, ensuring the semantic layer accurate is and complies with relevant data regulations
Qualifications
  • 2+ years of experience in analytics engineering, data analysis, business intelligence, data science, or other related fields
  • Experience with Tableau, Power BI, Sigma, or similar visualization tools
  • Comfortable writing intermediate to advanced SQL against large data sets (CTEs, window functions, joins, aggregations)
  • Experience with DBT, Fivetran, Python, or similar data transformation tools
  • Familiarity with data orchestration tools such as Airflow and Dagster
  • A collaborative attitude and the ability to establish partnerships and build consensus
  • Critical thinking and inquisitiveness coupled with a desire to continuously learn new skills
  • The ability to have fun at work and foster team connectedness

Preferred Skills
  • Experience with DBT building and maintaining SQL-based data transformation pipelines, including writing models, tests, and documentation
  • Exposure to Snowflake Cortex for leveraging built-in AI/ML functions such as text summarization, sentiment analysis, or LLM-based queries

  • Must pass any and all required background checks
  • Must be and remain compliant with all legal or company regulations for working in the industry
  • Must be a minimum of 21 years of age
