Job Description
The Credit Analyst II plays a critical role in evaluating and managing credit risk for new and existing customers by performing detailed financial analysis and applying company credit policies with sound judgment. This role builds on foundational credit experience and represents a progression from transactional credit work toward more independent analysis, risk assessment, and decision-making.
The Credit Analyst II manages a portfolio of accounts with moderate to higher complexity, reviews financial statements for public and private companies, and provides well-supported credit recommendations. This position regularly partners with branch offices and internal stakeholders, balancing customer service with prudent risk management.
The ideal candidate has demonstrated growth in credit analysis, can work independently on most assignments, and is developing the confidence and judgment required for senior-level responsibilities.
Major Duties and Responsibilities
  • Analyze financial statements and third-party financial data for public and private domestic and international customers to assess credit risk
  • Evaluate customer creditworthiness and recommend credit limits, terms, and risk ratings in accordance with company policy
  • Manage and monitor a portfolio of accounts, proactively identifying changes in financial condition, payment behavior, or business risk
  • Recommend changes to risk ratings and credit limits based on payment trends, business type, terms, and other factors.
  • Review payment trends, industry conditions, and customer structures to support informed credit decisions
  • Prepare journal entries within company policies, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
  • Communicate credit decisions, risk concerns, and financial requirements clearly and professionally to branch offices and internal partners
  • Respond to credit-related inquiries from branch locations, providing timely and solutions-oriented support
  • Draft internal documents such as Non-Disclosure Agreements and Letters of Guarantee
  • Escalate higher-risk or more complex credit matters to senior analysts when appropriate
  • Perform additional projects and duties as assigned

Location Requirement:
This position is in-office at our branch located in Scottsdale, AZ. Remote work is not available. Candidates must reside within commuting distance or be willing to relocate.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field
  • 3-5 years of progressive credit, financial analysis, or related experience
  • Demonstrated ability to analyze and interpret financial statements and credit reports
  • Strong working knowledge of credit risk principles and internal controls
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, formulas, data analysis)
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain financial concepts clearly
  • Proven organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines
  • High attention to detail and accuracy
  • Strong customer service orientation with professional judgment
  • Ability to work independently while knowing when to seek guidance
  • Aptitude for learning new systems and adapting in a fast-paced environment
