As a Senior Mechanical Engineer at Bren-Tronics, part of EnerSys and a manufacturer of advanced portable power solutions, you will provide technical leadership while leading, organizing, and contributing to the design and development of batteries, chargers, and other complex energy storage systems. This role requires strong expertise in the design of injection-molded and sheet-metal components to support reliable, manufacturable solutions for demanding applications.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Work closely with management, electrical engineers, drafters, technicians, and manufacturing personnel to design, and develop new products.
  • Utilize SolidWorks to generate designs of systems, assemblies, and components.
  • Generate comprehensive technical drawings and schematics for mechanical systems and components while working within the configuration control systems ensuring accuracy, consistency.
  • Develop sources for mechanical system components.
  • Perform structural and thermal analyses on designs.
  • Provide expert leadership and troubleshooting for the construction and refinement of battery system prototypes to production.
  • Facilitate the seamless transition of new battery products from the prototype stage to full-scale production.
  • Engineer specialized fixtures and assembly aids tailored for battery production, optimizing manufacturing processes and ensuring product quality.
  • Identify and resolve technical issues within the supply chain.
  • Engage in the creation and refinement of project proposals, ensuring technical accuracy, compliance with client requirements, and alignment with organizational goals.
  • Mentor junior engineers and support team development.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, A Master’s degree is preferred.
  • Minimum of 10 + years hands on experience developing products and working in engineering production department.
  • Experience and high proficiency with SolidWorks.
  • Must possess experience in metal and plastic injection molding.
  • Battery packaging experience a plus.
  • Strong knowledge of mechanical engineering principles, materials, and processes.
  • Experience mentoring and developing engineering team.
  • Excellent communication, problem-solving, and decision‑making skills.
  • Strong Customer/Client focus, technical capacity and discretion.
