Summary:
The High Voltage Tech position provides high voltage electrical tech support to operations and Energy Transfer assets while following corporate policies and ensuring that safe work procedures are followed. This position is a key component in insuring that the facility is operated safely with maximum efficiency.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential job duty satisfactorily. The essential job duties for this position are listed below:
  • Troubleshoot station and sub-station electrical systems.
  • Perform testing on transformers, breakers, switchgears, circuit breakers, metering, cables, and other high voltage yard equipment.
  • Perform infrared scans of high voltage equipment.
  • Perform routine inspection as per preventive maintenance standards.
  • Perform testing on high voltage motors 4160.
  • Maintain records for each facility.
  • Able to interpret critical measurements and make a recommendation to supervision.

Required Education:
  • Technical degree or High school diploma or its equivalent with years of related industry experience
  • Certified Electrical License

Required experience is commensurate with the selected job level:
Level C requires a minimum of 0 - 2 years of relevant experience in a midstream operations role or equivalent work experience
Level B requires a minimum of 2 - 4 years of relevant experience in a midstream operations role or equivalent work experience
Level A requires a minimum of 4+ years of relevant experience in a midstream operations role or equivalent work experience
Working Conditions:
The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job.
  • Lifting up to 50 lbs. occasionally
  • Driving, walking, and standing frequently
  • Exposure to adverse weather, cramped conditions and some heavy lifting
  • Visits to industrial/manufacturing settings, which may include exposure to various materials and chemicals, as well as extreme temperature conditions and loud machinery, and require appropriate personal protective equipment
  • Occasional overnight travel may be required
  • Working extended hours as required in emergencies, on projects or outages.
