Job description


Job Summary
Responsible for the day-to-day operations of on-site project work. Acts as the liaison between project workers and assigned project manager to ensure successful accomplishment of established project objectives. Directs the work of personnel assigned to the project, ensuring project compliance with all company safety policies and procedures.
Job Duties/Tasks/Responsibilities
  • Responsible for accomplishing the project objectives within the constraints of the project, as directed by management and is responsible for ensuring successful implementation and execution of project tasks.
  • Participates in the developing and/or updating of project plans, providing project-specific input.
  • Participates in the development of project Work Breakdown Structure (WBS) and schedule during pre-mobilization activities and updates them during the execution of the project.
  • Implements and ensures verbatim compliance with corporate and project plans and procedures, providing feedback in areas that need modification.
  • Manages project execution and activities of subcontractors to ensure adherence to budget, schedule and scope in compliance with ProjectSolutions processes and the project management compliance matrix.
  • Assigns duties, responsibilities and spans of authority to project personnel to ensure all work is being completed on schedule in accordance with project organizational chart of responsibility.
  • Prepares and reviews reports and forecasts, including summary of construction progress and job manpower forecasts.
  • Keeps project management informed of project status, highlighting deviations from the plan.
  • Anticipates potential problem areas, analyzes and recommends solutions or corrective actions.
  • Responsible for additional projects.
  • Supervises more people.
  • Increased decision making responsibility.
  • Understands budgets/procurement. Identifies and manages resources.
  • With additional training and certifications, is ready to make the transition to Project Manager.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
Minimum Education, Experience and Certification Requirements Education
  • High School diploma or GED
Certifications
  • Certified Associate in Project Management (CAPM) preferred
  • Heavy equipment certification, knowledge, and/or experience preferred
Required Experience
  • Minimum of 8 years related experience
  • 4-6 years of field work required before promotion
Preferred Experience
  • Heavy industrial or energy related construction and/or demolition experience preferred
  • Radiological work experience preferred
Required and Desired Skills
  • Effective organizational and interpersonal skills
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Intermediate computer and software skills
  • Ability to effectively review plans and work packages and transition the details into field instruction without issues.

Physical/Mental Requirements and Working Conditions
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds; handle, grip, and reach above or below shoulder
  • Ability to use hands and feet to accomplish tasks as assigned
  • Ability to stand, walk, climb, bend/stoop, crouch, kneel and twist at the waist
  • Ability to effectively communicate; pass audiogram in hearing conservation program as required by location
  • Ability to work inside an office, outside and in extreme temperatures
  • Ability to wear chemical resistant coveralls and respiratory protection
  • Ability to work with machinery vibration, power tools, moving objects, and slippery/uneven walking surfaces
  • Ability to work alone and work with others; perform under deadline pressure
  • Ability to operate equipment, drive a vehicle and travel overnight
