Dynamic Catholic Jobs Information

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a Web Developer, and why are they important?

To thrive as a Web Developer, you need strong proficiency in HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and familiarity with frameworks like React or Angular, usually supported by a relevant degree or coding bootcamp. Knowledge of version control systems (e.g., Git), content management systems, and sometimes certifications like AWS Certified Developer are commonly required. Attention to detail, problem-solving, and effective communication are essential soft skills for collaborating with teams and translating client requirements into functional websites. These skills and qualities are vital for delivering responsive, secure, and user-friendly web solutions that meet business needs.

What are some common challenges web developers face when working on cross-functional teams?

Web developers often collaborate with designers, product managers, and backend engineers, which can present challenges in aligning priorities and communication styles. For example, translating design concepts into functional code may require negotiation and compromise, while ensuring that technical constraints are understood by non-technical team members. Regular meetings, clear documentation, and using project management tools can help facilitate smoother collaboration and address these challenges effectively.

What does a Web Developer do?

A Web Developer is responsible for designing, coding, and maintaining websites and web applications. They work with programming languages like HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and often backend languages such as PHP, Python, or Ruby. Web Developers ensure that websites are functional, user-friendly, and responsive across different devices. They may also collaborate with designers and content creators to deliver a seamless online experience.

Job description

Overview
We are a team of digital marketers working towards a singular goal: bringing world-class Catholic resources to as many souls as possible. We’re looking for a Swiss-army-knife designer and to create engaging, high-impact experiences across web, email, and app platforms. This is a hands-on role where you will be responsible not only for creating visually stunning and highly functional designs but also for implementing those designs through front-end development. You’ll be responsible for crafting meaningful experiences, and building them with clean, scalable, performance-optimized code.

As a Senior Designer, you will bring expertise in web and application design. You will dive deep into distributing our world-class content, optimizing designs to align with brand guidelines while driving performance and engagement. You’ll execute UX/UI design across campaigns, contribute to our design system, and collaborate with marketers, developers, and content creators to deliver engaging, mission-aligned digital experiences. You will work in a fast-paced, collaborative environment and will need to be ready to contribute on day one.

Dynamic Catholic has been a game changer for over a decade—and now we’re looking for someone who’s ready to help create the next wave of digital innovation. If you’re a designer who codes and you’re looking for work that challenges your creativity, sharpens your skills, and serves a greater purpose, this is the place for you. Come join us.

Who We Are: At Dynamic Catholic, our Mission is simple: to re-energize the Catholic Church in America. Catholics are leaving the Church at an alarming rate, and disengagement among those who remain is staggeringly high. This is where you come in. We are looking for driven, talented, and dynamic individuals who will work tirelessly to use their talents to inspire people to rediscover the genius of Catholicism.

  • Develop visually appealing and effective email designs that drive engagement and conversions.
  • Code front-end components based on your designs, ensuring they are fully functional and optimized for performance.
  • Develop wireframes, prototypes, and mockups to illustrate design concepts and collaborate with stakeholders for approval, and developers for execution.
  • Conduct user research, A/B testing, and gather feedback to inform and optimize design decisions.
  • Ensure designs meet brand guidelines while focusing on improving engagement and performance.
  • Work with marketing, content, and other ministry teams to align design with broader mission goals.
  • Maintain a strong understanding of modern UX principles, accessibility standards, and responsive design frameworks.
  • Continuously optimize designs based on performance data, user feedback, and mission objectives.

  • Deep track record of translating complex ideas into simple and functional designs.
  • Proficiency in design software such as Adobe Creative Suite, Figma, or similar tools.
  • A collaborative, empathetic mindset with a high level of self-awareness and the ability to take constructive feedback without ego.
  • Experience matching brand guidelines with performance objectives, optimizing designs for engagement and conversion.
  • Ability to troubleshoot design challenges and deliver innovative solutions within tight timelines.
  • High attention to detail, ensuring accuracy and quality in every project.
  • Commitment – Deeply passionate about the Mission of Dynamic Catholic and willing to act as a Servant Leader; ability to be flexible and adaptable as the digital landscape changes,
