Explore more on Cubic.com.Job Details:Job Summary:The Senior IT Architect is a subject matter expert in the design and delivery of IT infrastructure solutions. This role is responsible for reviewing and validating infrastructure designs from an operational perspective within transport mobility systems. Key areas include server and storage architecture, networking, virtualization, monitoring and management platforms, PCI compliance and disaster recovery.The role provides advanced architecture design, engineering oversight, and system integration expertise. It also supports bid, tender, and variation processes by developing detailed infrastructure designs and cost estimates covering build, operations, and ongoing maintenance.Operating with a high degree of autonomy, the Senior IT Architect collaborates across technical and business teams while serving as a trusted advisor to stakeholders.Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities:Solution Architecture & DesignLead the design and review of end-to-end infrastructure solutions, including compute, storage, networks, and data protection mechanisms for business-critical systemsDefine system requirements, architecture, and integration approaches aligned to operational and business needsDrive system-level design, including functional partitioning and architecture definitionCloud & Infrastructure ManagementContinuously improve cloud and infrastructure environments, including cost optimization and financial managementEnsure high availability, resiliency, and scalability across all platformsOversee implementation of backup, restore, and disaster recovery strategiesDelivery & ImplementationLead the design and implementation of new solutions in collaboration with Engineering, DevOps, and cross-functional teamsWork closely with Release and Change Management to ensure deployments are well-planned, documented, and executed successfully with appropriate rollback strategiesParticipate in change review and approval processes, ensuring compliance with established policiesStakeholder Engagement & LeadershipProvide technical leadership, mentoring, and guidance to engineers and support teamsCollaborate with internal teams (Engineering, DevOps, V&V) and external partners to align outcomesDevelop strong client relationships and act as a trusted technical advisorBids, Tenders & Continuous ImprovementContribute to bids, tenders, and variation proposals, including detailed designs and cost estimatesSupport continuous improvement initiatives across infrastructure and operationsGeneral Duties and Responsibilities:Comply with Cubic’s Quality Management SystemComply with Cubic Occupational Health, Safety and Environment policies and proceduresComply with security in accordance with established policies and proceduresComply with Cubic Human Resources ProceduresOther duties as requestedMinimum Job Requirements:Qualifications:Bachelor’s degree in Systems Engineering, Software Engineering, IT or a related disciplineSkills/Experience/Knowledge:8–10 years’ experience in IT infrastructure, including high-performance cloud environmentsStrong architecture experience across servers, storage, networks, and applicationsAdvanced expertise in Azure and AWS, including automation and cloud-native servicesProven ability to develop detailed infrastructure designs and cost estimates for new customer solutionsAdvanced knowledge of high availability, redundancy, and disaster recovery strategiesExperience with advanced network topologies (e.g. load balancers, firewalls, virtual networks)Familiarity with call centre technologies (e.g., ACD/PBX, CTI, IVR)Strong experience in performance system tuning and performance optimizationKnowledge of implementation and configuration of monitoring and alerting systemsExcellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skillsStrong stakeholder management, communication (written and verbal), and influencing capabilitiesWell-developed interpersonal skills, including the capacity to develop and maintain a rapport with stakeholders at all levels of an organizationPersonal Qualities:Self-motivated with the ability to work autonomously and within teamsAdaptable and effective in dynamic, fast-paced matrix environmentsDetail-oriented with a strong focus on quality and continuous improvementPositive, proactive approach with a focus on delivering outcomesAbility to perform under pressure and meet deadlinesHighly organized with a structured and logical approachThe description provided above is not intended to be an exhaustive list of all job duties, responsibilities and requirements.
