Job description

Project Manager – Digital Health & Healthcare IT
Location: Remote (Newfoundland & Labrador, Canada)
Engagement Type: Contract
Work Model: Remote
Initial Term: Through March 31, 2027
Extension: Possible 6–12 Months
Working Hours: Must be available between 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM Newfoundland Time
Travel Requirement: Minimal / As Required
Number of Openings Expected: Approximately 3–10 Project Managers
Client is seeking experienced Project Managers to support current and future Digital Health initiatives across the province. Successful candidates will lead healthcare technology projects, collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders, manage project delivery, and ensure successful implementation of digital transformation initiatives.
The Project Manager will report to Project Delivery Managers and work closely with healthcare, clinical, operational, and technical stakeholders throughout the project lifecycle.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Project Planning & Execution
  • Develop and maintain comprehensive project plans.
  • Create project charters, schedules, resource plans, and work breakdown structures.
  • Manage project execution from initiation through closure.
  • Ensure alignment with organizational strategy and business objectives.

Project Governance & Reporting
  • Prepare and deliver executive-level project status reports.
  • Track milestones, deliverables, budgets, risks, and project performance metrics.
  • Facilitate project governance meetings and steering committee sessions.

Risk & Issue Management
  • Develop and maintain risk registers.
  • Identify project risks and implement mitigation strategies.
  • Manage issue resolution and decision documentation.

Stakeholder Engagement
  • Lead stakeholder meetings and communication activities.
  • Collaborate with healthcare leaders, clinical teams, technical teams, and external partners.
  • Build consensus among competing stakeholder groups.

Change Management & Adoption
  • Support organizational change management initiatives.
  • Ensure successful transition to operations.
  • Facilitate user adoption and stakeholder readiness activities.

Team Leadership
  • Lead cross-functional project teams.
  • Coordinate resources across multiple workstreams.
  • Provide direction and guidance to project team members.

Healthcare Technology Delivery
  • Support implementation of Digital Health solutions.
  • Coordinate healthcare IT initiatives and technology deployments.
  • Work closely with technical and business stakeholders to achieve project objectives.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
Education
  • Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Information Technology, Healthcare Administration, or related discipline.
  • Equivalent education and experience may be considered.

Certifications
  • PMP (Project Management Professional) preferred.
  • PRINCE2, Agile, Scrum, or equivalent certifications considered an asset.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE
  • Minimum 5 years of Project Management experience.
  • Experience managing large-scale projects and project teams.
  • Experience developing project plans and executing project deliverables.
  • Experience with project governance, risk management, and stakeholder engagement.
  • Experience working within matrix organizations.
  • Demonstrated success delivering projects on time and within scope.

Preferred:
  • Digital Health project experience.
  • Healthcare IT implementation experience.
  • Experience working with healthcare organizations and clinical stakeholders.
  • Experience leading enterprise technology initiatives.
