  • Identify training needs and support employee development initiatives.
  • Coordinate biweekly payroll administration for hourly, nonexempt, and salaried employees.
  • Manage HR transactions and maintain accurate information within HRIS/HRMS systems.
  • Maintain compliant personnel files and employee documentation.
  • Develop, update, improve, and enforce company policies and the employee handbook.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable employment and labor laws.
  • Develop and execute employee engagement initiatives.
  • Manage vacation schedules and accruals for hourly and salaried employees.
  • Participate in workplace Environmental, Health and Safety initiatives.
  • Prepare HR reporting and KPIs, including headcount, turnover, attendance, and related workforce metrics.
  • Manage workers compensation processes, OSHA-related support, disability management, and return-to-work programs.
  • Provide HR accessibility across plant shifts, including occasional off-shift support.
  • Support Employee Assistance, training, and return-to-work programs.
  • Lead or participate in plant-level and corporate HR projects.
  • Provide HR support to other company locations as needed.

Qualifications

  • Post-secondary education in Human Resources or a related field.
  • At least 3 years of experience with payroll, workers compensation, and benefits administration.
  • HR certification or progress toward certification is preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of employment laws and HR best practices.
  • Experience with workers compensation, disability management, incident investigation, and loss control.
  • Strong Microsoft Office skills, particularly Excel and Word.
  • Experience working with HRIS/HRMS platforms.
  • Strong employee relations, communication, organization, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to build credibility and relationships across all levels of an organization.
  • Ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
