Job description


Clay County is accepting applications for an Assistant Prosecuting Attorney II to prosecute misdemeanor and felony cases, manage case reviews and filings, and represent the State in hearings and trials. This position works closely with law enforcement, victims, and witnesses to ensure fair and effective case resolution.

Minimum Requirements:

  • JD and Missouri Bar license
  • At least 3 years of trial experience
  • Strong knowledge of criminal law, rules of evidence, and court procedure
  • Excellent communication and case-management skills

Preferred:

  • First-chair experience on major felony trials
  • Post-conviction experience

This is a full-time, exempt position offering meaningful work in public service and the opportunity to support justice throughout Clay County.
